LoadImage is one of my more sophisticated approaches to the problem of IFF-ILBM pictures. Why is there any problem? you may ask. The problem is the EA '85 documentation and the public-domain source code which remind me not of 1985 but of 1885. The style used both in documentation and source code is somewhat "strange" and does not help the beginner very much in his effort to "get something out of DPaint, Images or the Animator" (Jim Kent). The documentation does its best to explain why the source code is how it actually is, but sometimes even the best is not good enough. The EA-IFF '85 routines are very flexible and sophisticated but only the experienced programmer is able to evaluate their qualities. My question is: why isn't there _a_n_y_ simple and understandable IFF-ILBM-loader? The beginner usually wants to load and display a picture, he doesn't need the other IFF routines. LoadImage tries to offer this chance, but I suppose that a general approach to improve the IFF documentation would be the better idea. I really hope that this criticism will have its effect. Note: if don't have 1MByte of chip ram you will probably not be able to load the Madonna.pic. Olsen
