VPath is freely distributable, providing that only a reasonable copying
fee is charged.

This document MUST be distributed with the VPath program.


Many moons ago, Amiga Format gave away Vista on a cover disk.
This amazing program not only generates still pictures of a fractal
landscape, it will also produce animations of those landscapes.
This is accomplished by adding the current camera settings to a script
file which is then executed by Vista to produce the frames.

Now, adding these frames by hand is a tedious business, and there is a
path creation program available to make this easy.

VPath is not intended to compete with the official path creation
program, but its free!

VPath will read in a Vista script and generate 'tween positions for the
key positions in the script file.
This means that you can add two main positions to a script in Vista, and
then get VPath to generate a script of smoothly graded movements between
the keys. Or you could use three keys or fifty three and so on.

To use VPath, you will need to open a Shell or CLI, and then type the
following:

VPath key.script my_new.script

where key.script contains your key positions, and my_new,.script is the
name of a new script file which VPath will generate.

VPath will then read the first two keys and ask you how many frames you
want to allow. VPath then reads through the rest of the keys, each time
asking you for the frame count. This means you can 'accelerate' the
movement in the final animation.

When the program has finished, you can execute your new script in Vista,
put on the kettle and wait for your new animation to render.
Load the finished frames into DPaint hit 6 and be amazed!

NOTE: If the difference between key positions does not divide exactly by
the number of frames, then your animation will not move quite so smoothly;
but it still blows you away watching those mountains zoom towards you as
the camera swoops and dives before pelting along a canyon bed at full-tilt
boogie.
