S2 P1 EP ¤3¥2 ABOUT VOTING¥1¤1 I just looked through Vanish's latest trackmo. In the end of this demo ¤2Navy of Vanish¤1 tells us his opinions about voting. He writes this: ¤2"In my opinion only graphicians should be chosen to be a part of a jury for gfx-compos because at least only those who know how hard it is to draw pictures can really judge. Same for music- or demo competitions!¤1 ¤9Hey! Isn't that just bullshit?!¤1 Aren't the eyes of a coder or a sysop good enough to judge a picture? Aren't the ears of a swapper or a graphician good enough to recognize a good tune? I do think so. ð The main goal of a gfx-competition is not to decide which picture that was hardest to draw. No, the main goal is to select the ¤2best¤1 picture. Right? And who is actually counted as a graphician? The guy who paints a logo every second week without releasing anything. Is he a graphician? Or is it everybody that claims to be one? Maybe only the twenty best in the Eurochart? Face it, it's impossible to decide. ¤6But, let's just imagine that the jury consists of the twenty best according to the Eurochart. Then they can't take part in the competition! Or do you actually mean that a guy (or a girl!) could both be a member of the jury and take part in the competition?!? Sure, twenty guys voting for themselves!¤1 (Note. I do think that most of the graphicians are honest, but I know Ð what money means to a poor computer owner.) And after the competition people would say about the winner: ¤5"Sure he won. He was a part of the jury!"¤1 Not very funny for the perhaps well deserved winner! ¤6By the way. Who do you think should vote for the demo competition?¤1 I have nothing personally against you Navy, but I think you should think twice before writing something stupid. Please defend yourself; write an article and we'll publish it! Ð
