Where  is  the  best place to go to if 
you are  bored of techno-rave parties, 
if  your girl  just broke up  and  you 
don't  only  want  to sit  at home for 
your self...?  The  answer  is,  go to 
your favourite Pub!
  ¤4The  pub is the great British insti-
tution,  older than Parliament and the 
Church,  a  more   powerful  symbol of 
continuity  and  tradition  than   the 
Royal  Family.¤1    Nearly  every  other 
country have tried to imitate the pub,
but  they  just  don't  work  anywhere
else...  The  medieval  pub  was often 
connected to a monastery or church and
the   link  turns  up  in  the  oddest 
places; Goat  and Compasses comes from 
"God encompasses us",  Cat and  Fiddle 
ð
from "Catherine Fidelis" and so on....
  Some  of  the stranger pub names are 
deliberate misreadings  of  the signs,
which  were  often  poorly  painted by 
local artists. Eg:
  The fameous London pub, Elephant and 
Castle,  was  originally  meant  to be 
called  "The Infant Of Castilga",  but 
the   inhabitants  were  not  able  to 
pronounce it right...
  ¤8For most people, though, the typical
pub  is  a  Victorian  pub, built on a 
corner  site  with  three or four bars 
arranged  around  a  central   serving 
counter.¤1Ok,  enough  of  this  history 
and let's  go  to  the  most important 
point about the pubs, the beer! 
  In general, there are four different 
categorys of beers in a normal pub and
they are: 

  1. The ale!  The  ale is  the normal 
light beer which isn't exactly strong.

The  beer  in  this category  are very 
usefull  if  you  want to  drink a lot 
without getting drunk..     
  2. The bitter.   It  is  darker  and 
stronger than the ale..
  3. The stout. One of the more famous 
powerful  beers  in   this   group  is 
¤5Guinness!¤1  In the latest years foreign 
beers,  lager,  have replaced a lot of
the  traditional beers and that is not
good  at  all...   ¤3Eg, Budweiser taste 
like  metal  polish  and is so cold it 
make your fillings ache!!!¤1  Another of 
these,  ¤2Miller  Lite¤1,   is   basically 
draught ¤7Perrier¤1  water with a tinge of
colour.  It  ain't heavy,  it  is  the 
closest  thing  to nothing in a glass!
  There  are  several ways  to consume 
your  alcoholic  drink.  Some  people, 
mostly  notherners, actually prefer to
stand, because they can pour more beer
down their gullets when in  a  upright 
position..

  If  you dont want to  talk  you  can 
always  play  some  of the games which 
are  very  often occuring,  both legal 
and  illegal,  like poker and pitbull-
terrier fights.
