S3 P1 EP ¤6¥2 SANITY VS TRSI - THE DUEL!! -¤4¥1 In this first issue of JOYRIDE we have reviewed the two highest entries at the ¤6WORLD OF COMMODORE 1992¤4 in Germany, ¤6Sanity and TRSi¤4! Both of them competed with high-quality trackmos and the result was the following: Sanity at the first and TRSi at the second place....... Was it a fair result? Let's see what our two most insane judges, ¤6Santiago and Coral¤4, thinks... ð ¤6¥2 SANITY¤1¥1 The graphics are not especially good, except from the demon head which has been used before. The others could have been much better. But the music is excellent!! Very nice tunes. And it also scores the highest in our scale. The main tune is in a typical Jester & Bit Arts disco style, with a little techno-influence. A very nice detail is that the code goes concurrently with the music. The second tune is also inspired of techno and it's quite good. Although using routines for scrolling graphics noone else (for a few exceptions) has ever used almost ¤6EVERYTHING¤1 in the demo has been released before with Sanity's earlier productions, and that pulls the Originality down quite a byte, sorry, bit. Finally, the demo is Ð good. Far over the average level, but it still lacks of ¤6THAT¤1. But one thing is for sure, Sanity has saved their newest routines for the ¤6Party II in Aars¤1, and that demo is certainly something to look forward to. Keep up the good work Sanity! We know you can do much better than this. ¤9Graphics : 6 Music : 7 Originality : 6 Quality : 7 ¤4Overall Imp : 6.5 ¤6-------------------------------------- ð ¤6¥2 TRSI WICKED SENSATION¤1¥1 Whow! A two disk trackmo from ¤6TRSI's German section¤1! That had to be something special, we thought before putting it into the drive. And it was...... ¤6NOT¤1! At least the first impression was very negative because, it didn't start at all at the first try! We had to switch off the computer before it worked (ofcourse we turned the computer on again, or else it would have been a little hard, don't you think?). But then we experianced a couple of pure, high standard Amiga-Mania minutes. The graphics were superb with a few exceptions. The picture of the girl and the logo in the endpart was marvellous! Nice work, ¤6Peachy!!¤1 The Ð ¤1music, two tunes composed ¤6by Romeo Knight¤1, were great. Especially ¤6"Boesendorfer P.S.S."¤1, with the best pianosamples we have ever heard. However the demo itself wasn't really very epoch-making, but it contained of the latest known routines with some new effects. The Quality was high, but pulled down a little because of the incident in the beginning... The design and coordination between the code, gfx and music was good! ¤9Graphics : 8 Music : 7 Originality : 7 Quality : 6 ¤4Overall Imp : 7.0 ¤6-------------------------------------- ð ¤4That leads us to the main question: ¤9Who is the winner?!¤4 The music was equal and the gfx and the originality was better in Wicked Sensation, which means that out of these two excellent demos we are proud to present a winner!!! ¤6-/-/-> TRSi - WICKED SENSATION <-/-/- Ð
