±12 Commercials - the truth? ±13------------------------------------- ±12by Dolphin ±11Have you noticed all those damned commercials on TV lately? They appear to be somewhat innocent, but let's take a better look at some examples... ±13 Catfood ±11Image: The producer or company who produces this food wants you to believe that the cat will choose their food before any other. They use tricks like these: A cat run away from home, but it returns because they open a can of e.g. Whiskas (Tm). Truth: The cat can be starved to a point where any food will be eaten immediately. Cats would of course choose a fish or a piece of meat in its natural form instead. Result: People buy expensive catfood because they fall in the advertisers trap. A bad smell of can-food will quickly be discovered in homes where these are used. ±13 Beauty Refinement ±11Image: Here we have different aricles like shampoo, moisturize-cream and deodorants. The best example we have here is the deodorant entitled "Axe". "Axe" is presented like this: a beautiful woman loses her scarf and a man who has been using "Axe" picks it up. When he stands up she smells his deodore. She seems to like it and loses her scarf again(!) Truth: This deodorant stinks! The reason why they advertise so often is of course, because nobody buys it. If you fail to learn about how it stinks or by mistake buy a stick/spray you will quickly discover that this deodorant smells worse than your body- perspiration. Result: If you pick up a date or try to ask someone to dance etc., you'll find yourself rejected (almost) every time! Try to avoid this product at all costs. Or else you will wake up and discover that your friends have vanished... ±13 Washing Powder ±11Image: The washing powder advertised is always "the best". If you use another brand your clothes or dinner service will be destroyed. The best examples I can think of are "Sun" and "Omo Colour". Truth: Your clothes will get clean with most washing-powders, so there's no despair! Instead of buying the package with most colour/design, you should pick the ones who don't include dangerous and polluting substitutes and those who are cheap. Result: If you DO buy expensive trademarks like mentioned earlier you'll help financing those fucking boring advertisments. Your clothes will get clean, but at a price not comparable to other powders. ±13 Automobiles ±11Image: Every car advertised is perfect, or is presented in a way that makes you think so. A crazy example of this is the car "Renault Clio". They actually wants you to beleive that this car is larger inside compared to the outside of the car! Although I'm NOT a philosopher, I'm pretty sure that this is impossible!!! Truth: Many factories have great difficulties in selling cars. That's why they advertise so often. If you are looking for a car, try to visit a shop instead of being tricked by those commercials. Then you can find the car that suites you personal needs best. (Like space for you and your girlie!) Result: If you neclect the truth you might buy an automobile not suitable at all. If you have a family and buy a Porche to travel in next holiday, you've screwed up! This is of course also the case if you buy a Volkswagen Mini-Bus for you and your girlfriend. (Eh, maybe it could be quite practical after all!) ±12If you're as fed up with boring commercials as I am, why don't you make yourself some snacks or something in the next break? Or turn that bloody TV off!ç
