Due to poor sales of other Energion Publications products and other financial problems, Energion Publications has gone out of business and has shut down their support BBS. I've taken back responsibility for Proteus, and am now distributing it as freeware, rather than commercial software. The registration info and 90-day evaluation limit have been removed, and the full non-protected version is now included in this archive. Although you're no longer required to pay for Proteus, donations of any size are very much appreciated and will help motivate me to continue supporting and improving it. In fact, since support will now have to be done via commercial services, which cost serious money to use, I'll be forced to ignore all but the shortest and simplest questions unless you've compensated me for the time and expense in advance. In other words, you can use Proteus for free, but support will cost you. I hate to sound so mercenary, but it's just reality; I can't afford to pay for support out of my own pocket. No particular donation amount is suggested or required. You decide how much Proteus is worth to you, and how much you want to encourage me not to give up on it. I'd rather have you send me $5 than fail to get around to sending me $50 (although the $50 will obviously be much more effective at keeping my interest in the project from flagging and in making me feel helpful if you have problems).
