STREETS AND ALLEYS V2.64

VERSIONS:  Versions before V2.63 were not released.  They did
not even resemble the current version.  V2.64 has improved card
graphics over V2.63.

BACKGROUND:  Streets and Alleys is one solitaire game that is
not included in any of the commercial packages.  I like the
game, so I decided to write a computer simulation of it.

INSTRUCTIONS:  Just double click on the Streets&Alleys icon, the
game will display a brief greeting while it is reading data.
Then, the screen will appear, and the cards will be dealt.  If
you didn't get a chance to read the entire greeting, it can be
recalled under the V2.64 menu.  Rules and Strategy for the game
are also found under the V2.64 menu.

To play the game, click on a card, it will be displayed in
reverse video, then click on a destination pile, and the card
will be moved (unless you've attempted an illegal move). 
Clicking twice on the same card will deselect it.  You can
bypass the computer's move restrictions by selecting the 'Allow
All Moves' option in the menu (i.e. cheating).  The other menu
selections are pretty self-explanatory.

SCORING:  I dreamed up the scoring criteria mainly so a player
could see how many moves he's made.  If you select the 'Show
Score Card' option, the score card will be displayed every time
you start a game.  You can also read the score card anytime by 
selecting 'Score' from the V2.64 menu.

WINDOWS:  Any help window will close when the left mouse button
is clicked.  

PROGRAM LOCKS UP?:  If you use a QMOUSE (hotkey, screenblanker,
etc.) type program read this:

QMOUSE has a feature (the -k option) that lets you bring windows
to the front by clicking a number of times.  If you use this
QMOUSE option with the 'Clock' window on Streets&Alleys, the
Clock will get lost behind the main game window.  When this
happens, I usually just disable the clock option.  It's probably
possible to freeze the game if you lose a help window behind the
main window, since the game will not accept input while a help
window is open.  When using QMOUSE, its a good idea to disable
the -k option by adding '-k0' to the QMOUSE startup.
