Dicey Docs ---------- After unpacking Dicey! you must name your disk "Arts" for the game to load properly. All picture files and brushes should be in the subdirectory "Pictures" and sound files in the "Sounds" subdirectory. Arts:Pictures Arts:Sounds ------------- ----------- MTITLE ELBELL MSETUP CLICK MROLL TICK MBOARD All files ending in .br Place all other files in the root directory (Arts:). At the setup screen you may choose from 1 to 4 players. If you choose to use the players' own names (up to 8 characters), you must hit return after inputing each name. If no names are entered, the program defaults to "Player 1" etc. The speed option changes how fast the dice are rolled during the game. On the main game screen there are icons to roll the dice (the hand), view your scorecard (the magnifying glass) or end your turn and go to the scorecard to input your results (the pencil). On each turn, the player gets up to three rolls of the dice. Choose which dice to reroll by clicking on the dice and toggling the roll/keep buttons. At the scorecard, input your score by clicking on the category you wish to fill. If you change your mind, the erase button will cancel your input. If your final dice cannot be used in any of the remaining categories, choose one you wish to forfeit and a "0" will be entered. Hit the DONE button to end your turn and return to the main screen. The game ends when all categories are filled. The Categories -------------- Aces - The total of the ones in your final roll (Max 5 pts) Twos - The total of the twos in your final roll (Max 10 pts) Threes, Fours, Fives and Sixes work the same way as aces and twos. If these six categories total 63 or greater (three of each), you get 35 bonus points. Three of a kind - The total of the 5 dice if at least 3 are alike Four of a kind - The total of the 5 dice if at least 4 are alike Full House - 3 of a kind plus 2 of a kind (25 points) Small Straight - 4 in a row (1-2-3-4) (2-3-4-5) (3-4-5-6) (30 pts) Large Straight - 5 in a row (1-2-3-4-5) (2-3-4-5-6) (40 pts) Dicey - 5 of a kind (50 pts) chance - Total of the 5 dice (save this until your really stuck) If you get a second dicey and the dicey category does not have a "0" in it, it is worth an extra 100 pts. If the dicey is 5 fours etc. and that category is open, the second dicey should be used there. If the category is filled, you may use the dicey to fill Full House, Small Straight, or Large Straight and get the normal points for those categories. You also can always use it in 3 or 4 of a kind. Enjoy the game!
