The earliest recorded of all major showers,
the Lyrids produce a fairly consistant 
display. The meteors are medium fast (28 
mile/sec) with the hourly rates rarely 
going above 20. There have been
exceptions with 1803 and 1922 giving
rates of 96/hour, and a burst of 250/hour
(for a few minutes) in 1982.
