How to start my official BKD entry: 1. Put the floppy labeled FantasticFractals1 in one drive 2. Go into the FractalSlides directory and double-click on FantasticFractals How to stop this demo: 1. Press any key on the keyboard to stop this demo. Minimum configuration: One Meg. of RAM To install on a hard disk: 1. create a directory to put the demo in. 2. drag the FractalSlides and FractalMovie directories into this new directory For those who have a hard disk, you will want use the projector on the file named "fantasic_fractals_hd.film. This version has delays in it to compensate for the hard disk faster loading time. Those of you with only one floppy drive or 512K of RAM will want to use the projector on the file named "slides.film." This will only display the slides (it will not display the movie.) The movie is what takes all the RAM. The pictures in this demo were generated on an Amiga 2000 with a 2620 board. The program that generates the pictures was written by me (Kevin Clague) in C. The pictures are Mandelbrot and Julia pictures generated using the Distance Estimator Method. Without a processor accelerator board these pictures took about 24 hours to generate and display. With a processor accelerator and the code compiled to use the 68881 directly, the pictures take about 20 minutes. I hope you like it!! Kevin L. Clague
