M O T   - doc: January 16 1988

MOT is an old program of mine which was written to test some MIDI
parsing routines. Set your preferences so that the serial port 
is set to MIDI, and then run it. MIDI Note-Ons are displayed as
Quaver-like triangles, scaled in proportion to the velocity. If any 
Note-On is not matched by a Note-Off, MOT draws a line "Barring" the 
note-shapes together. Pitchbend and controllers cause vari-colored
lines to be drawn at the bottom of the screen. The sustain pedal
is represented by a pedal marking.

The vertical lines count off seconds. The
Keyboard numeral keys change the time-base from 2 second through
18 seconds (I think). The F-Keys cause the following things to happen:
   F1) Use triangular shape.
   F2) Use Rectangular shape.
   F3) Don't Bar the notes.
   F4) "Color Cycle"
MOT may get clogged up by excessive musical activity, and lag behind -
especially when it needs to clear the screen often. This is because
it is written in CSI Multi-Forth, which is not very fast.

You can resize the display (and reveal the sizing gadgets) if you 
click with the right mouse button.
TO EXIT MOT, you can hit the Escape button, and then give it some MIDI input.
Hitting the close gadget (upper left of the window) will also 
stop the program after some MIDI input.

You can multitask MOT with Music Mouse or other MIDI-generating programs.
Connect MIDI-OUT to MIDI-IN on the MIDI interface. I think MOT should be
run LAST in the series of programs for this to work.

DON'T SELL THIS PROGRAM. It's on a few boards already and you won't
be able to make a dime on it. If you didn't buy it - you shouldn't sell it.
