Control Panel Version 1.0 By Mark D. Manes (C) 1987 Colony Software July 28, 1987 Control is a Workbench tool that is designed to work with any printer that is supported in the Amiga Preferences. This tool will allow you to quickly change from one printer mode to another. This program works well with Scribble!, and several other popular word processors and editors. The program is mouse driven (except in two places). The screen is divided up into four major sections. The RESET section contains a button that will reset your printer to power-up condition. The Command section (located in the upper right of the screen) is the printer test area, the eject the page (TOF), show current printer settings (SET) and the HELP command. The third section, the action section is where you select the type of printing you wish. The following is a list of commands that the CONTROL PANEL supports: NLQ - Near Letter Quality DRAFT - Draft Mode CDND - Condensed Print (15 CPI) NORMAL- Normal Spacing (10 or 12 CPI) DB STK- Double Strike ON (often used for printers that do not have a NLQ mode) DB OFF- Turn Double Strike OFF BOLD - Set printer to Bold type printing BD OFF- Turn off Bold mode ITALCS- Set printer in Italics mode IT OFF- Turn Italics off 10 PCH- Set printer to 10 Characters per inch (CPI) 12 PCH- Set printer to 12 Characters per inch (CPI) The fourth section is the Status section. This section will show you what the printer is currently doing, or the last command that you executed. What is this program useful for? This program will work with databases for example. It will allow you to fine-tune your reports, give your reports a capability that the programmers did not think you needed. I do hope that you find this useful, if you do I would welcome some bucks, if not, maybe I will get you with the next whiz-bang!
