Arp is a public domain project to replace the Amiga's DOS with a DOS
that fits better with the rest of the Amiga Kickstart software.

The project has begun by attempting to replace all the commands in
the "C:" directory on WorkBench disks with equal-or-better commands
that use the standard "C" language calling conventions rather than
the "BCPL" conventions.  By eliminating all programs that need to
use the BCPL interface, it will be possible to write a new DOS that
does not have to duplicate that interface.  This new DOS would be
faster (particularly doing directories!), and would be easier for
software developers to work with.

To use the Arp programs on this disk, simply copy the programs in
the "ARP" directory onto your WorkBench diskette's "C:" directory to
replace the existing programs.

This is an early release of Arp, and only has a few programs.  The
programs included here are all smaller than the DOS equivalent programs,
so they require less disk space and will run a bit faster.  The programs
in this release are equivalent functionally to the DOS programs, except
that they don't accept a "?" for interactive input on the command line.
