This is a *pre-release* BETA version of Scheme. It does *not* contain the code required to specify pin numbers, object types, part numbers, or "hidden" nets. Also, Saving, Auto-routing, and plotting are disabled. Since the Objects are not specified in detail, none of the checking functions are operative in the demo. This pre-release version is an example of what we are up to. If you have questions or suggestions, feel free to call or write us with them. Our address and phone are in the "info" menu selection in the sample program. Gadget tools are provided for: COPY DELETE MOVE ROTATE (90/180/270) FLIP (H/V) GROW SHRINK MAGNIFY REDUCE PAN (H/V) SPLIT A WIRE CHANGE PAGE MARK ALL UNMARK ALL FRAMEWORK LINE TYPE UNDO LAYER EDIT OBJECT/WIRE MODE SWITCH TEXT INSERTION The gadgets can be disabled by clicking the right mouse button while the pointer is over the gadgets. You can still operate, but operations can only be selected from the menus. Some operations are only available from the menus in any case. The object editor is functional, with the exception that specifying object electrical and physical parameters is disabled. The object editor can make new objects, or will edit current objects if they are selected when the editor is invoked by clicking the "grid" gadget. To use a "new" object, click in the workspace, then select "custom" from the objects menu. Scheme has a number of different modes. These are indicated by checkmarks in the menus, or the drawing in the gadget. These may get out of sync with each other in this version, but no problems occur because of this. The "op-amp" symbol indicates "global object-editing", the pencil (which appears next if the op-amp is clicked, is for text layer editing, and the drawing outline is for the framework (disabled in this version). Thge "hand" symbol indicates (in global object-edit) that you are in a mode that allows manipulation of the objects -- moves and so on. Click on this gadget, and a wire symbol appears. To wire, click the pointer over a connectable node on an object, and then again over another object. These wires will "rubber-band" when the objects are moved in any way. Multiple connections are permitted. Mostly, you will have to experiment with the system. If you need help, you can call us, and we'll try to, but we cannot spend too much time with each caller or we won't ever finish the project! So be considerate. We're working on it! Scheme should be released this summer, but may not actually appear until September, 1987. We want as many of the "bugs" out as we can manage so you don't get any "surprises". Other products under development are in the areas of CAD (surprised?), Image processing, Amatuer Radio packet handling, and Amatuer Radio Slow Scan television, as well as some interesting items we can't tell you about yet.
