SUBJECT:
--------
I recently happened to digitalize some things (on a PC, shame on
me!) with a camera and an expensive picture treatment card made by Philips.
After saving my face to disk and transfering it to my amiga, I realized it
was in a totally foreign format: the PCITex format, created by Imaging
Technologies. So I wrote a program that was able to convert it to a good
IFF file. ITex2IFF is the result.

USAGE:
------
The program is used ONLY from the CLI by giving it the names of the
source and destination files. Both arguments are required. It only works
under Kickstart 2.04 or newer, and requires errormsg.library V1.0+ and
iffparse.library to run. errormsg.library is copyright 1994 by myself, you
can find it in PD libraries (it is FREEWARE).
The result is not perfect, but should be easily adapted with a
paint program as it is standard IFF format. Currently, you will get a
black and white picture (16 grey levels) hi-res interlaced uncompressed
picture from a 256 grey levels picture. If someone needs it, I can also
make it output a 256 colors picture for AGA chipsets, but you will have to
give me some documentation on such IFF files (I only own an old A500).
