TachySearch 2.1 Getting tired of manually entering search engine URL's in IBrowse? Wish it had that nifty SearchEngines page like AWeb? Well, here you go. It's not original, but at least I saved you doing it yourself. Instructions: Ok, copy everything into the same directory your IBrowse executable is in. Don't rename any of the files or you get to edit HTML yourself and since most folks are to dumb to even use AmiTCP and have to resort to things like Miami, I think you'll want to avoid the editing. ;') Next load up IBrowse. Go to the Preferences menu and choose 'General'. click on Fastlink. click on ADD. In the name entry fill in 'Search Engines' or whatever you want the button labled. (Hmm TachySearch might be a good button label ;') In the location entry put 'file://localhost//search.html' Without the quotes and substitue in your path where you keep IBrowse. Example: Name: Search Engines Location: file://localhost/WorkI:communications/IBrowse/search.html click on OK Go to the preferences menu item again and choose SAVE SETTINGS. There should now be a 'Search Engines' fastlink button, click on it and make sure it loads the search page. If not, sell your computer cause this was so easy even a monkey could have done it properly the first time. Ok you could try reading thru this and having another go at it first I guess. To use it, well, just choose your search engine and type in your search keywords and hit return. BTW I put the search engines in the order I generally use them myself. Though I usually only use the first three anyway, but.... Good luck, Tachyon - cgaul@netrover.com P.S. Yes, the backdrop picture IS toilet paper. Why? Cause the page will help you finds all kinds of cool shit. ;') HISTORY: 2.1 Added Aminet searching, and updated personal hotlist 2.0 Added personal hotlist 1.0 Original, but was really a beta.
