Why do all Cyclone's listviews come up with scrambled text?
Cyclone requires a monospaced font, like Topaz, for it's listviews. By default it will instruct MUI to use such a font but you may need to use the MUI settings editor to set one up.
I've been using Cyclone for a while and I've noticed that it's getting very slow at reading messages.
The M1 database engine used by Cyclone is particularly sensitive to disk fragmentation. When your hard drive gets fragmented Cyclone will slow down quite a bit. To speed things up perform a Purge operation on large mail areas and then use a utility like ReOrg or AmiBack Tools to de-fragment the drive.
Also, if your drive is formatted using the Directory Cache (FFSDC) filesystem, you may be able to improve performance by converting it to standard FFS using ReOrg. Using a small software cache, like HyperCache or CacheX, can also speed things up.
Using an alternative filesystem like PFS or AFS can also help
Why are certain gadgets shaded out?
These functions are not available yet. Look out for future updates that will enable these functions.
Instead of icons I just get blank squares at the bottom of the main window.
These icons rely on the AmigaOS 3.x datatypes system. If you are using AmigaOS 2.0x/2.x or your datatype drivers are incorrectly installed then you will see only black squares.
When will Cyclone get Internet capability, like Thor?
Never. Cyclone is a dedicated FTN mail editor and will not ever support other systems. However, there is the possibility of a gateway program becoming available.
I've decided I don't like Cyclone. Can I sell my keyfile to a friend?
No. Keyfiles are non-transferable.
What happened to those cute help bubbles?
They were removed after lots of complaints.
