This program may be freely distributed as long as all documentation and executable remain unchanged and are included with the distribution. Also no profit is to be made by selling this program (except a small copy fee of max. $2) What is UserInfo? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First of all: IF YOU AREN'T A POINT/NODE IN ANY COMPUTERNET, THIS TOOL WILL BE OF NO USE (I think :-) UserInfo is small program which codes and de-codes informations about a person. The idea is that you insert these coded informations in all the messages you write so others could get an idea about how YOU are. UserInfo creates a UserInfoData-string (a tagline) from your answers asked by UserInfo. UserInfo can generate 5231809208280559618670513356800000000 different personalities ( = 10^8 * 11^4 * 12^7 * 13^6 * 14^9), so you ought to fit into one of these :-) UserInfo has been localised to the following languages: Danish, Dutch, English, and German. ARexx scripts has been made for the following systems: April, MicroDot, Pread and Spot. UserInfo has been written in 100% ANSI C and will be ported to other platforms such as the PC... You can choose your own output style, simply by changing the ANSI codes in the cfg file. How to install UserInfo? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don't get upset if you think UserInfo is hard to set up! It really isn't - and it's worth those 2 minutes it'll take. Here is the instructions.. on a level everybody should be able to understand... 1. Copy UserInfo to C: 2. Copy the UserInfo configuration-file you want (depending on your personal language preferences) to S: and rename it to "UserInfo.cfg". 3. Copy the ARexx script for your point/node program to REXX: If you can't use ARexx in your mail program (eg. unregistered Spot) then save the message manually as "T:userinfo.temp" and execute the script "UserInfo.script" instead. 4. Change the ARexx script, if you don't use the txt-view'er "Most". 5. Make your own UserInfo-tagline by typing the following in a CLI: UserInfo make userinfo.cfg ram:tempfile Now answer all the questions as honestly as possible. The answers will then be transformed into a tagline that you can insert in the bottom of your messages. 6. Configure your point/node system in a way, so it'll insert the UserInfo-tagline in all your messages automatically (DON'T put them in the origin!). 7. (and now for the FUN part :-) To decode other messages which contain an InfoUser-tagline, you just run the ARexx equivilant to the point/node program you are using. Configure your point/node system, so it'll run the UserInfo ARexx script easily (eg. by pressing a hotkey). Or save the letter manually and execute the UserInfo.script NOW THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT... If you have a point/node program that is not supported by UserInfo, then please send me a copy of your script, and please write the name of the programs public screen (if any, so eg. Most can open it's view directly on it). It'll then be included in the next version of UserInfo... Help. ~~~~~ I'd like to thank the following people for their help! ARexx scripts information. April - Toke Godiksen/Denmark. MicroDot - Arndt Van Der Molen/The Netherlands. Pread - Morten Holm/Denmark. Configuration file: Danish - Peter Meyer/Denmark. Dutch - John Hendrikx/The Netherlands. German - Paul M. Kragh/Denmark. Doc stuff: Anders Melchiorsen/Denmark. Paul M. Kragh/Denmark. (for the German doc - THX!) Enforcer testing (no hits found): Anders Hybertz/Denmark. Testing: Anders Melchiorsen/Denmark. Klaus Jensen/Denmark. Peter Meyer/Denmark. Thomas Veber Jensen/Denmark. Thanks A LOT all of you... Updates. ~~~~~~~~ If you translate the CFG file, then PLEASE send me a copy, so it can be spread in the original package. And NOTE that the maximum linelength is 80 chars if the lines are longer, the rest will be ignored. If you have any ideas or suggestions to new questions+answers then please mail me also... To do. ~~~~~~ More questions + answers. Translation of the config file and doc file into more languages. More ARexx scripts. Tip. ~~~~ If you are not using Most and want to use another text shower, that doesn't support, you are permittet to remove the ANSI codes in the CFG file for your OWN purposes (please don't spread it). You can also just change the styles/colours if other ones suits you better... Registrating UserInfo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you like UserInfo, I would encourage you to register.. If you register, your'll be granted an official registration number you can insert in your tagline, so others can see, that you really liked the program.
