If  you have a Supra Wordsync controller you could use the following method
to  install  MultiUser.  It uses a boot disk since the Supra Wordsync can't
boot  from any other file system than FastFileSystem.  This method may work
on  other old controllers too.  It was sent to me the morning I had planned
to release MultiUser Release 1.5 by

use  it  at  your own risk!  I can't assume any responsability or liability
with respect to the information and files in this subdirectory!


Installation of MultiUser on a Supra Wordsync hard disk:

  o Go  into  SupraEdit  and  select  "Make  MountList".  This will write a
    mountlist for later use you will need.  Copy this onto a disk.

  o Go into HDToolBox and look at your hard disk.  If it is changed, try to
    "Write  Changes  to  Drive".   If HDToolBox says that your hard disk is
    full, backup it (I really mean it, see later!)!

  o Now  select  "Change  Drive  Type"  and  look  you  get your drive type
    correctly.  HDToolBox is pretty good at guessing SCSI drive types.

  o Go back to the main window and "Write Changes".

  o Select  "Exit"  and  "Continue".  This will reset your machine and just
    that  also  killed  your  hard disk.  I hope you have a set of WB disks
    ready...

  o Boot  from the Install disk.  Try to format your hard drive with the WB
    menu  item  (if  it  does  not function, then you may have to low-level
    format  your  drive  (but do not do that with Quantums!)).  Reset again
    and boot from the Install disk.

  o Format your hard disk if necessary.  Play back your hard disk backup.

  o Unpack  the  "muFS-Boot.DMS"  archive to a disk, replace the mount list
    and  edit it accordingly to your setup.  You have to copy the mount and
    the  execute commands on the disk.  Copy the "suprascsi.device" and the
    patched copy of the "MultiUserFileSystem" on the disk.

  o Install the remaining MultiUser as the doc tells you.
