 "Gwardar" is an Australian snake, which I chose for a nickname because
 of it's admirable character.

 Here's a rough translation from a German article about Australian snakes:

 "You are likely to accomodate an uninvited guest in your home, the Gwardar (...).
  These snakes, with their slim, wire-like bodies, resembling some poisonous
  snakes commonly found in the Old World, are passionate devourers of
  rats and mice. On their search for prey, they will not hesitate to enter
  houses in the countryside and even find their ways into huge, noisy cities.
  A confrontation with a Gwardar feeling attacked is dangerous. The snake
  is incredibly fast and does easily bite. Its poison is very effective in
  destroying man's nervous system, and due to this fact a large portion
  of casualties caused by snake bites in Australia may be blamed on this
  single snake."
