Introduction
============

I have two Amigas, an old A2000 and A4000/040. I have only one
printer, which is connected to the A4000. Sometimes it would be nice
to print something from the A2000 also. I already have an RS232 wire
between the machines, but I really didn't want to put up another cable
for the printer. This is where I made SerPar.

SerPar is a program which simply opens a small window and then copies
everything from the serial port to the parallel port. When its window
is closed, it quits. This way I can set A2000 to print everything to
the serial port and redirect the output to the printer on my A4000.


Requirements
============

SerPar requires at least AmigaOS 2.0 to run (sorry 1.3 owners, but I
_really_ consider 1.3 to be obsolete).


Usage
=====

From CLI:

SerPar  [serial_device [parallel.device]]


Without any arguments SerPar copies everything from serial.device to
paralle.device. You can give another serial.device look-alike with a
command like arguments (like artser.device). Similarly you can give
another device to replace parallel.device (like fastpar.device). NOTE:
If you want to give another device for parallel, you MUST also supply
the serial device name!

It is _not_ necessary to use 'run SerPar...', as SerPar detaches
itself automatically.


From WorkBench:

Just click on the icon. You can add the necessary command line
arguments to the icon tooltypes (just add the device names in correct
order).
