LICENSE.DOC FileID -- A File IDentifier program. V 1.41 February 19, 1994 DISTRIBUTION The program (bearing our copyright) may be distributed freely by any electronic means: BBS, network, floppy disk, etc. as long as all the contents of this archive are bundled together and are not altered or modified in any way beyond the changing of the archive format in which they are enclosed. Usage is free to individuals. Government or commercial use requires registration. Licensing fees are as follows: $10 per machine (CPU) the program is run on OR $50 per site (a site is a single building, please). Send your registration to either of the addresses listed in the Read.Me file, payable to either Fred or Lloyd. Please be sure to mention what it is for so the other person can get his share. Include your company name and address. Licensing gets you a lifetime license. If you send us an Internet address, we'll notify you of upgrades as they become available. (It's up to you to pull them off the net). SOURCE CODE Source code for FileID is available for purposes of porting the program to other platforms. Contact us for more information. The program is written in ANSI C and compiles without change on both a PC and an Amiga, so should be fairly easily portable to any other platform. We require that people porting the code add their copyright to ours (if changes to the code were necessary), and makes the resultant executable freely distributable. In addition, send us a copy of the executable and altered source code (if any) so we can post it to the appropriate network sites for distribution.
