   Normally I use old Russian television called Junost 402, so I'm happy
to read topaz.font on screen. But sometimes I use my friend's VGA monitor
and the topaz doesn't look well in my opinion, especially I prefer thinpaz
font, because I can put 106 characters on line.

   Some programs let me choose which font I want to use, some don't. And
it's not nice having half program run in topaz and half in thinpaz so I
started to look for a patch which would force these topaz ones to use
thinpaz. I found nopaz on Aminet, but it didn't work on my Amiga (I don't
know why) and it was so long.

   So I started to write my own patch. It's short (336 bytes, resident part
174 bytes) and it patches both OpenFont() and OpenDiskFont().

   Disadvantages? Here they are: No control task (commodity or whatever) so
some programs don't work well (my favourite AsmOne). If you want to use
other font then thinpaz you have to change and compile the source, so you
need an assembler and Commodore's include files.

    Everything in this archive is freely distributable, but also
copyrighted to author, Jan Skypala. But it's not freeware. Let's call this
new category @{i}PostCard-ware@{ui}, so anyone using the program is asked
to send a postcard to author, if possible postcard with the picture of the
place he lives in.
    I'm not postcards collector, but I'd like to know all the places Amiga
fans live in.

    Authors of shareware programs using my program are asked to find the
program equivalent to registration fee (it took me about the same time to
write the program and documentation as earn the money you want for your
programs) and register me and send me @{b}FULL WORKING@{ub} programs (or key files).
The programs are accepted on 3.5" disks or by Internet E-mail, addresses are

    If you want to patch topaz to be changed to other font then thinpaz
just load the source into any assembler, go to bottom, change the name
of thinpaz to one you prefer, compile it and here you go.

    The problems appear when you try to force topaz.font to font of
different width (as I use thinpaz.font). Some programs may expect that
the font they opened is 8 pixels width and all routines are hard coded
for this.
    The only program I found which causes big problems by this is AsmOne.

    My Font still doesn't patch windows that are opened when Workbench's
menu items Workbench/Execute Command..., Icons/Rename...,
Icon/Information..., and Window/New Drawer (but this one is again
Icon/Rename...) are selected. I don't know why and I'm to lazy to crack
Workbench just because of this problem.

    My Font should run on any Amiga.
    My Font requires assembly compiler and include files for compiling (if
you wish to use other font then thinpaz).

    All Assigns wes developed using A1200 with 203 MB Conner Hard disk and
it's working fine here for about 4 hours now.
