Sounds boring, eh? ........ Right! So, what about this: Caller-Spy is THE Last-Caller-Util for Ami-/X with NON-BELIEVABLE FEATURES! Hm, sounds better, doen`t it? ..... OK, let`s check if that`s true: First, Caller-Spy is implemented as a DOOR! Yeah, right, as a Door, so EVERY USER CAN START IT EVERYTIME HE WANTS !! And that`s only one of the great @{"Features" LiNK FEATURES} of CALLER-SPY. Another advantage is, that Caller-Spy does REAL-TIME-UPDATING! That means, every time it is started, it scans the Callerslog and shows all actual informations out of it, including the ones from THE USERS STILL ONLINE ! So, Caller-Spy is not only an Last-Callers-Util, furthermore it is also kind of a WHO-DOOR! Just think of that possibility: You are logged in a bbs, and you can watch all the user-activities by calling several times Caller-Spy, all the infos of the Online-Users are steadily updated, including KB-Up, KB-Dn, Paging, Sysop-Activities, and so on and so on! NumUser 10 <--- Number of Users that are displayed! (here: last 10 users) Just enter the number you like, but be sure, that the callerslog is long enough! (give it a try and enter `100`, cool, eh?) NumAnsis 11 <--- Number of Ansis located in `fronts.txt`! In the Archive, there are 11 ansis, so if you add or delete some, just enter the correct number here! It`s important, to enter the correct amount, coz the user`s input on his configuration-screen is affected by that value FrontNo -1 <--- Select Front-Ansi with number `FrontNo`. if you wanna see ansi number 2 every time, just enter `2`. Enter `0` for random-selection, that means, every time Caller-Spy is started you`ll see another ansi. Enter `-1` to disable the ansi, so no ansi is shown! Display 1 <--- Display-Flag. `1` means: show last-users on screen, `0` means: don`t show them! So you can turn on/off C-Spy without having to remove the ~CC_CSPY everytime out of your login-bulletin CheckNodes 0 1 < Just enter here the Nodes you like to be watched! In this case, only nodes 0 and 1 are looked for, no matter how many other nodes are installed. With this option, you`re able to keep your local sysop-node hidden from the users! AnsiFormat 1 <-- Set Type of Output: 0 means pure Ascii-Output, 1 means Amiga-Ansi and 2 means IBM-Ansi-Output RowColors 35 <-- these are the standard-ansi-colors for the 10 rows of the last-users-output! Every user can change these to fit his own needs, but these are the default-values every user is prompted with till he configures them! AmigaFile <----- Only necessary, if you wish an output into a bull-file! Just specify here the filename and path of the bull-file, and add the command-line `DOORS:Caller-Spy/C-SpyOff` to your logoff-batch. enter `NO` as filename to disable the file-output, or just delete this line! Behind `AmigaFile` just enter the filename for the Amiga- Ansi-Output!! AsciiFile <----- same as above, this one is for pure ascii-output IBMFile <----- same as above, this one is for IBM-Ansi-Output as always, enter NO (or just delete the whole line) if u don`t want to have one of the mentioned outputs! Reverse Off <--- This option ONLY AFFECTS CSPY-OFF, the logoff-part of C-Spy. So if you haven`t installed that part, coz you really don`t need any text-output, you won`t need that option! Possible values are ON and OFF, and as u might guess, with that option u can specify, if the actual user should be shown reverse or not! This option was added, coz the text- output of CSpy-Off is possibly shown when nobody is in the board, so no need for reverse-mode! ============================== iMPORTANT THiNGS TO MENTiON: ============================== The @{"USER-CONFiGFiLES" LiNK USER-CONFiG} in the `Users/`-Subdirectory have the same entries apart from the entries `NumAnsis` and `CheckNodes`, which CAN ONLY BE CHANGED IN THE MAIN-CONFIG-FILE (`asglobal.cfg`)! `AmigaFile`, `AsciiFile` and `IBMFile` are also ONLY usefull in `asglobal.cfg`. Second, they are only usefull, if you add a line in your logoff-batch like: DOORS:Caller-Spy/C-SpyOff That one is the executable ONLY for file-output!!! The same is for the Reverse-Option! But remember: CSpy-Off does EXACTLY THE SAME as C-Spy, so u even can start it from the shell in the background, when the bbs is running - so u got every time the 100% correct output!! @ENDNODE @NODE USER-CONFiG "HOW TO EDIT THE USER-CONFiGFiLES" CALLER-SPY can be started from the mainline with the `w` option: EXAMPLE: cspy w with that option, the user-configuration-screen of Caller-Spy is shown, with the following options: (1) Number of users to show: 10 (2) Display Caller-Spy: ON (3) Show Front-Ansi: RANDOM (4) Ansi-Format: Amiga-Ansi (5) Create your OWN STYLE with the first option, the user can change the number of users, that will be displayed as the last users. Possible values range from 1 to 999 :^) the second option turns Caller-Spy on or off! So if a user doesn`t want to see the last-calles every time he logs into your system, he just sets the value to `off` and he won`t notice the start of Caller-Spy anymore! The only way back is to turn the option to `on` again! with the next option, the user can select, which front-ansi he likes to be shown on the top of the screen, random-selection brings up another ansi every time Caller-Spy is started! He can even turn the ansi off, if he only likes to see the `pure` information! the fourth-option determines the Ansi-Look of Caller-Spy. The three possible values are: Amiga-Ansi, IBM-Ansi and ASCII. So every user has the possibility to get Caller-Spy looking best on his terminal-screen! Finally, by pressing `5`, the user gets into the Color-Configuration-Screen! MAIN-PROBLEMS AND THEIR SOLUTION: ================================= - THE OUTPUT OF CALLER-SPY IS FULL OF RUBBISH, SEEMS TO BE TOTALLY CONFUSED ->Just delete the two files `astoday.cfg` and `asyester.cfg` located in the Dir `DOORS:Caller-Spy/`! After that start Caller-Spy ONCE with the number of Users set to an value, that guarantees that all users from TODAY AND YESTERDAY are shown. (if you`re not sure how to change the user`s-shown-value check the description of the @{"CONFiGFiLE" LiNK CONFiGFiLES} in this doc-file!) If that didn`t correct the problem, have a look into your callerslog and check if it look`s normal! If it doesn`t look normal, just delete it or change the corrupt data inside manually! Then start Caller-Spy again with the above mentioned settings! If all that didn`t solve your problem, just contact me on the BBS` below! Else set the value of users shown back to the normal value and be happy! - CALLERSPY DOES NOT COUNT THE CALLS AND BYTES UP/DOWN CORRECTLY ->Simply log locally into your board, show up the config-screen with `cspy w` and set the number of Last Users to be shown to 100 or even higher (depends on how much calls you got on 2 days!) Then start CallerSpy ONCE and set the numbers of Users to be shown back to the value it was before (normally 10)! That should fix the problem.
