This command prompts you for a valid file or message area to edit, then presents you with a menu of all the parameters which apply to the area you are editing.  You must select the appropriate number for the item you wish to edit and hit return.

Certain items will not be visible if they do not make sense. For example, file-only parameters do not show for message areas, and if a message area is local-only, you will not be given the option to edit the origin line or newsgroup name parameters.

At the end of the parameter list are a number of extra options, allowing you to overwrite the area with a template or edit special text files associated with the type of area you are editing.

If you make a mistake during the editing session, you may always abort without saving the data to disk and start over.
