And many of you surely have discovered ToolType v3.0 by Michael Barsoom (Shareware) up until now to edit the ToolTypes with the aforementioned Text Editor. Now ToolType editing is going to be much easier than ever thanks to this wonderful little "coding-masterpiece" called oNYxICONS. With this program you are now able to store the ToolTypes externally as an ".icfg" file to change them easily using a TextEditor. Furthermore it is possible to combine icon AND a ".icfg"-file, i.e. if an icon is opened, the ToolTypes are added to the corresponding ".icfg"-file. Copy oNYxICONS to your C: 2. Edit your S:Startup-Sequence or S:User-Startup and insert: C:oNYxICONS >NIL: 3. Convert your icons using the supplied ConvIcon Program: usage: ConvIcon ie: ConvIcon Serial.info 4. After converting the icon you can delete the old one if you do not need it anymore or you just erase all the ToolTypes out of the Icon. (ATTENTION!: before removing the ToolTypes make sure to deactivate oNYxICONS by starting it again !) NOTE ---- There are programs that check (with the help of the dos.library/Lock- function) if the required Icon exists. Because this function will not find any file with the ".info" suffix, so it is fooled to think that there is no icon and stops. Example: AmiExpress uses the dos.library/Lock-function to look if there is a FULLEDIT.INFO in the SysCmd directory, but if you converted it to a ".icfg"-File it wouldn't start the the FullScreenEditor anymore! To remove this fault, continue reading below! Normally an Icon is opened ALL THE TIME with the icon.library/GetDiskObject function e.g. the ".info"-file is not locked. If the program still performs a lock you should generate the Icon required by the program without any ToolTypes. Example: To remove the /X-FullScreenEditor-fault create an Icon (FULLEDIT.INFO) without tooltypes in the your SysCmd drawer. The ToolTypes of the ".icfg" file are then automatically added to the Tool- Types of the Icon while loading it. Such a patched Icon is recognized by the first ToolType, which should look like the following: » Icon uses .icfg TextToolTypes « fOX!
