If you like it and use it, upload some on my board. I will not take any responsability for whatever this door does with your computer (It wont do anything but what it should, but you never know what those lamers do!). «-----------------------------------------------------------------------------» What it does! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This litle util cleans up your messagebase. Some sysops, including myself thinks it's alot extra work to clean up the messagebases, so I made this litle util to do the job for you. «-----------------------------------------------------------------------------» Why use thisone! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, for starters, it's the only one I know of that does the job nice and easy. JH made one once, but it's quite anoying to use, so I made this, and it worx gr8! «-----------------------------------------------------------------------------» History! ~~~~~~~~~~ V1.0 - Had the ability to strip messages that users had forgotten to delete after recieve. Many sysops wants their HD clean from such shit, including me. :) V1.1 - Totally rewritten, as I thought my old source was to complicated. This MUST be even quicker! :) Added the ability to compress the messagebase in an /X friendly way. I'm by this not saying that all utils will work, coz I don't know how they're written, but /X don't complain. It depends on how the utils handle the msgbase. If you run a netmail util other than /X-Net, don't run this util with the compress option on those confs. Also added the ability to remove ALL/EALL messages when they get to old. Added a MsgDate fix. Some utils post messages with a date way beyond the real date. This is because the authors of these utils don't know how to get the date in /X format, so they put a 0 in that field. However, this util fixes these messages and puts todays date on em, so you can be able to use the ALL/EALL deleter. Fex WeekTop v1.0 wich I run, sets the date to 0 and all these messages will be deleted if you don't use the fix-option. v1.2 - Added the ability to delete old messages, fex if a user wrote a message to another 3 months ago and he never called again, etc. Rewrote the util from scratch to increase the speed. Now all compression, deletion etc is made in memory, giving the program a speed boost. «-----------------------------------------------------------------------------» Usage! ~~~~~~~~ This util should be run from SHELL or some batchfile only! It's NOT an /X-door! Usage template: MessClean [ALL=DAYS] [OLD=DAYS] [COMPRESS] [FIX] Well, not hard. ConfPath should be the path to the conference you wish to process, ie. "BBS:Conf1" or whatever. Running MessClean without any other args than the ConfPath simply deletes all recieved messages from the messagebase. ALL=DAYS is the ALL/EALL deletion. If you enter "ALL=5", all ALL/EALL messages older than 5 days will be nuked! Watch it here! Some lame utils don't write the right date when posting messages. Check it out before using this. OLD=DAYS let's you delete messages after a period of time wether they're recieved ore not. "OLD=60" deletes messages after 60 days if they don't get recieved. If the keyword COMPRESS is written, the util will compress the MsgBase as mentioned above. It's not very advanced, but will strip your HeaderFile and speed up msgscanning alot for users who hasn't scanned in a long time, ie newusers. If the keyword FIX is written, the util will put the current time on all messages with illegal time in the timefield. This will prevent ALL/EALL delete from deleting them instantly! NOTE! Unlike the lame attempt by Joseph Hodge to archive this, this util should be able to be run when a user's online. It locks the messagebase just like /X. In fact I ripped these routines from the source of /X! :) «-----------------------------------------------------------------------------» These are the ß-sites for all my doors/utils! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Asylum Altered State #1 Juan ++46-317-759378 Asylum Altered State #2 Juan ++46-317-759376 Disorder Marwin ++46-456-27511 Imagine Rille ++46-42-135505 Total Inferno Tango ++46-42-234164 Twisted Society The Big Byte ++46-44-106144 All my utils should be free dl, otherwise tell me and I'll kick that ß-tester.
