The Story About AxEdit.SRC

Some of you out there may have seen a textfile called 'axedit.src'. If you
didn't, it was basically the source code to an old Ax-Edit with some
comments saying that they had removed some backdoors from it.

It was created by the scene's number 1 lamer, James Conwell (JC), aka The
Controller.

Yes, I know..  The Controller is in the title credits of Turbo Zippy.  What
a backstabbing asshole, huh?

Here's definitive proof that 'axedit.src' is bogus, and you can test it for
yourself:

1.  The 'cracked' source is nothing but parts of old source code I
inadvertently left behind at James' house.  We were busy coding all night,
working on Turbo Zippy and when I left his house, I realized I had
forgotten to erase my private files off his hard-drive.  I didn't think
much of it, after all, we were best friends.

2. JC couldn't crack a program if his life depended on it! All he did was
copy the source file off his HD. And it took him "hours of work" to do
that! hahaha

2.  The 'cracked' axedit.src file is specially configured for running
without RexxEncrypt.  This version has a special start-up header that is
not used on the final rexx-encrypted version.  This is how I found out it
had been JC, since he is the only one with a copy of this special source
code.  If Ax-Edit had really been cracked, the intial header code would
look totally different.  Remember, the Amiexpress node is hard-coded into
the descrambled buffer, you can't "parse arg node" in C!

3. The 'cracked' source doesn't even work! All JC did was to add some
comments to it, take out my name, and spread it.  The script will not
function because it was an old version for testing purposes only.  Try it.
No lies here. When you run it you get a nice "Fatal Error" message.

I asked JC to write me the search routine in the first place because NZO
was busy writing Sonic Attack. I talked to NZO about it, and we agreed JC
could be a part of our coding team. Little did we know that JC would turn
out to be such a miserable and emotionally disturbed individual.

So then, you ask, why did the cock-sucking lamer spread my source code?

The reason JC flipped was because I refused to make TZ shareware.  That
is, JC wanted money and big, flashy title credits for his searching
routine.  So I told him no, that all my doors are free and I code for fun;
I would get my 68000 routines elsewhere.

JC knew I had a personal war against Deathbringer and the gang over at
Horror Zone dating back 3 years.  So he called him up and arranged the
spreading of the 'axedit.src' file through FAITH boards around the world.

But, fortunately, the majority of the sysops out there were intelligent
enough to know that it was all a hoax. Just be sure to read the attached
'Backdoors.txt' in case this lamer tries to pull another stunt.
