Welcome to the AmigaPine Home Page
This is the homepage for AmigaPine - the Amiga port of the Unix program of the
same name. On this page will be binaries and updates from previous releases
UPDATE
As of July 20,1995 I released the second version Pine onto Aminet.
So wait a day or two before you
can see it. If you have a bug or question related to Pine, I constantly monitor
the comp.sys.amiga.networking
newsgroup. If you use AS225R2 and don't own a 020+ machine, email me and I will
send you a suitable verion.
Bug Fixes/Enhancements from the previous released version
- Fixed a bug that made Pine crash randomly when started from WB.
- Now allows operability with AmiPOP and SMTPd
- Mail now loads much faster. I think news does too but it doesn't seem to.
(I changed a recursive routine to an iterative one.)
- Hopefully (I really do) all the known bugs have been removed
- 250K less in size!
- AmigaGuide help - cause of the size reduction
- Now works without AmiTCP's login
- pine -f folder now works with Amiga-style filenames
- Workbench support has been removed (for now - maybe restored later)
- Fixed a bug with using SMTPd - didn't parse its headers right if timezone
was included
- Should work with AmiTCP 3.0b2 now. Please tell me if it doesn't.
- Has a version string for indentification. Type version
pine to get Pine's version (will be 3.91 for now) and date created.
Information about Downloading
The base package contains all the extra utilities used with Pine such as
ispell (for spell checking). Make sure you turn on "load to local disk"
before downloading.

of Washington.
Happy emailing!!
