Stock Market For BBBBS This game was originally written by Ken Koch and was re-written to work on BBBBS by Matt English 2-29-92 (Leap year!) To set this game up, put "Stock_Market.rexx" into your Rexxdoors Directory. Then put "SM.companystats", "SM.help", and "smvars" in your Rexxdoors/Data Directory. After someone plays, more files will be generated in you rexxdoors/data directory. There are sysop functions available from inside the game. If your name is in the s:BBS.config file as the SYSOP, the game will show you the SYSOP MENU when you hit "Z" at the main menu. DON'T TRY TO RESET THE GAME UNTIL SOMEONE HAS PLAYED IT! The files involved in a reset, don't exist until someone has played! The original readme file follows this and it and the help file contain all the other info you'll need to play this game! The game will recognize what the players color preferences are set for in his user file and will respond accordingly. THANKS to Richard Lee Stocton for making the great BBBBS program, and for writing the color control routine that I used in this game! **************************** KEN KOCH ************************************* Ken, I tried to call you at "The Pub" BBS, but the number has been disconected! If you wanna contact me at "The Alternative" BBS 503-761-3043 we can make arrangements to get you a six pack! NICE game Ken!!!! **************************************************************************** -=- Stock Market -=- Files included: Stock-Market - the main file companystats - a starter set of companies help - the help file smvars - list of Stock Market variables readme - this file Setup : Put StkMkt in your PFILES: directory. Then use makedir to create a subdirectory in your PFILES: directory called Stock. Put the help, and companystats, files in the PFILES:Stock/ directory. All other files are created by the program. This version of Stock Market is translated from a program written written by Terry Murphy and Steve Wagy for the Color 64 BBS. I have tried to duplicate this game in ARexx for the Amiga from a printout of Stock Market in Commodore's BASIC 2.0 as written for Color 64 BBS. I'm a registered Color 64 BBS Sysop. But when I upgraded to Amiga I was apalled at the lack of games written for the BBSs. I waited and waited and finally came to my own rescue. The sysop menu is activated by having the person whose name matches 'sysopname' press the letter 'Z' at the main menu. I'm in the Army and move around a lot, so I'm not going to demand any contributions for this game. If you do like it and your users like it, send me the price of a good 6-pack. Wirewolf, that's me, like beer. I will be doing other conversions soon. If there are errors in the programs, please let me know. If you have supported my meager request, I'll bend over backwards to get you the latest version. I always see little things I want to fine tune, but I'd rather get this game into your hands as soon as I can. If you like hacking around, I reserve no specific rights for this game. I'd like it if you left my name in there because of all the work I put into this project, but I know how some of you are. Do not pass this off as a project of your own creation, I know how some of you are. Version 2.02 is the second version I have released of Stock Market specifically for C-Net. This version uses all MCI commands. Also, you may have to modify the program a little bit as I have given you the one right off my BBS and I rin it out of a subdirectory in Pfiles called Games. Version 2.03 is just a new package. I forgot the dang help file in v2.02! Sorry! There may have been a couple of minor adjustments as always. Owwooooo!
