TITLE:RECYCLING THE SCENER AS ENVIRONMENTALIST? PALETTE:0223 09bb 09d9 0dd8 3RECYCLING - THE SCENER AS ENVIRONMENTALIST? 2 By RokDaZone With heavy sympathies, environmentalists from 3ROBIN WOOD 1and 3GREENPEACE commented the will to recycling inside the scene. "It's quite unusual to see young people thinking about their environment in such a strong way!" was the echo from these circles. In fact, recycling rates inside the demoproducing world have gained more and more ground in recent years with a hightop (which hopefully won't be the climax of the Movement) reached in the last few months. Yes, it seems, the sceners finally become grownups, or why else should every new idea be copied that much in later demos when not for environmental reasons? Isn't it nice to see how young people use one and the same effect for two years in a row now without geting bored of it? For entire two years, the zooming and rotating of bitplanes is fashionable - in which cultural group of theses our fast times would one single idea have so much success over such a long period? No demo, dentro or intro without a zoomer, or a fractal landscape (for beginners done with dots). They are ennerving the viewer, winning no single prize at competitions, but they save our environment! Imagine the pollution if every programmer would have to think of own ideas instead of recycling the seldom pearls of brainstorming from others! Using those effects multiple times for ages by boasting that they've "optimized" them shows respect to the nature. So many things that could be seen, but we better not try: Believe it or not, every small piece of individual art, every minour idea makes more than 1000 (thousand) recycled demos look like a sausage! 1000 demos could be a handful of sand in a storm just because one criminel polluter pushes out with a new effect... Shocking, isn't it? It is good to know that so many people nowadays think of what they are doing. Imagine a demo without a raytraced animation of 16 pictures in four colours - what for a nonsense! Raytraced animation remain the only legitimation for wasting 650kbytes for two effects and a scrolly - we need them! Graphical pattern also remain the same - why a change when ancient shapes fit perfectly? We have seen Boris' pictures a dozend times - why not some further dozend times? If people say it's fashionable to scissor out black squares from the edges of a picture - why not doing it in every production? If bonbon-cream-colours are fashionable - why changing to other pathes? Leave everything like it is, don't change your way; oh, beloved "artist" - it's the way of the masses. Samples have to be recycled, of course! But most of all we have to recycle musical ideas. As 3E-NOZ/KRAZE 1stated lately in this very 2MARVELLOUS(!) LUNATICS 2BALL1, everyone clambers to the same basic musical structures (Jazz and Funk) and if the single musician isn't able to, he copies old 3ROMEO KNIGHT 1ideas. Why not? It's healthier for our environment... Full groups get recycled (3REBELS1, 3RAZOR 19111, 3REDNEX1), diskmags get recycled (3D.I.S.C.1) and handles get recycled (too many too mention here). Isn't it nice that everyone is so caring? This topic could be talked about multiple times in every construction. In fact it was already; it's one of the oldest aspects and demandings in scene life. 2Hey, who the heck said that I ain't an environmentalist?
