LISTTEAMS ç¾Listeams - A Dream Becomes Reality ... ? ²---------------------------------------- ¹By: XiBe of Synaps ¾I- The Origins of LisTeams. ²--------------------------- ¢It was a few years ago,perhaps 2 or even 3 , I don't really noticed the date. One day,I just begun to make a list of all the names of demogroups I could read anywhere : (paper/disk)mags, demos (greets, ...). So I did it, little by little (I was already a lame swapper:), and succeded in gathering around 100 names. I sorted them by number of letters, it was very nice, a kind of pyramid. But I was bored to have to check the number of letters before to include the name in the list . So I decided to put it in A to Z order. The list grew more and more . Then, around 1 year ago , I decided to incude the memberslists in the group. It became more boring than ever , I had to write very carefully the names on a paper while reading the greets or the articles , to sort out the news from the trashable stuff ... I succeeded in filling something like 150 teams . Nice ASCII file , you will say, never up-to-date , never finished... But I decided to put the whole thing in one ¶file: I had +500 teams (dead/alive), and just 150 were filled with (probably too old)memberslists. I needed support.So I asked my friends and contacts to send me all the memberslists they could obtain ... That wasn't enough. So now I ask YOU to support LisTeams. ¾II- The Main Thing. ²------------------- ¢If you haven't understood it yet, LisTeams is (will be) a big AGuide file which (will) features almost all the names of the active demogroups in the Amiga Scene , and the names of their active members. That's it , that's all. It's not a mag, nor a news-file , or a chart , nor anything else than a huge file, just a kind of data-base about sceners. If you think you can support LisTeams , then you just have to follow these "rules" : - If you (or the group you're involved in) write for the first time, then send the whole members-list . If it's not the first time you (or your group) write to LisTeams,then just write the changes that appeared in your group. - Note that the fastest you spread the news to LT , the more LT is able to be updated. - Don't write if somebody else in your group already wrote us. - Only send verified news (i.e of your group(s) ), or news you are sure of. - DON'T SEND votes nor articles !!! LisTeams is NOT a Mag/Chart !!! - DON'T SEND disks, excepted if you REALLY want to get LT. So,in fact,all you would have to do is , every time there's a change in your group, or a change you're sure of, to send the change itself , even on a postcard , directly to me, or to one of our memberslists suppliers. Addresses are at the end of this commercial-article. I know it is a quite unuseful thing to do , but , erm , I wanted to do it, and that's it. I don't know if I will get much support , perhaps I'll just get one or two news per week, and I would understand that,because it is just a file. But if you are one of these two guys who will regularly send me their news, you will be very granted , although I don't know how (mindly ?). Well,it's just for fun, as always,and as it should be. But, if you think you can help me in getting this piece of ASCII out of my mind, then please don't hesitate ! And personnaly , I don't think that one small post-card per week will kill you :).
