Do You Want To Answer Some Simply Questions Like How Old You Are And Where You Come From ? ¹This looks like as if I have to bore everybody with describing myself... well, so... let it flow. I'm quite old for the scene as I am 24 years old. You ow me some respect because I'm sooooo old. I'm living in France. My family roots are in Germany, but I actually live in south of France. You know France: the country of the stinky cheeses, and red wine; the land were human beings eat frog legs. It's also the country of the new HandBall world champions. Hey we finally won something, ain't that great? Enough of this crap, next question please! ¾Can You Please Tell Us About Your Scene History? ¹My scene history? In fact there nearly no history at all. I'm wondering if I ever was part of the scene... Anyway I entered the scene in 1991 in Eremation. And as you guessed it, I'm still in this group (if you guessed right, then you might be a clever person :-). In fact I got some offers from time to time but I never felt like leaving this group. I joined this german team in the beginning of 1991, but the group got some problems, and I had some bad luck and had to organize it. Since then we tried to keep some friendship in this crew, and this is probably the reason why most of us do not feel the need of leaving. Photos and I have been knowing ourselves for about 6 years, and we spent our last 4 years in the same crew. Furthermore, in france we know each other, and that's kind of rare in top groups. In fact I once entered a group and never left it. I'm perhaps one of the rare sceners who never changed for another group. As you can see there's really nothing special about my scene life. I was unknown in 1991, and it's still the case 4 years later, and it really doesn't matter. From the scene I got to know some new people, had great fun, and that's enough for me. What a boring scener we have there... ¾Instead of asking more about your earlier Scene-Life, I will continue asking about having a mag independent contra having a group-mag. What do you think is the main difference, and do you feel like going independent? ¹Hey, you finally found an interesting question. There's just a problem: I never thought about it before, but I'll try to write some lines about my own opinion and experience. Having a group mag means you have to keep up the group standard, and you can in some cases have difficulties in expressing all your feelings. It's possible the group's pressure enables you from writing what you'd like. On the other side you have the opportunity of getting fame faster all depending on the fame of the group your mag belong's to. You also can expect some work from the groups members (theory just theory). Being independent allows you to write whatever you like. You have to face no pressure, and have the feeling of being free. If ever your mag becomes famous you can be proud, as you know this fame isn't due to your partner's group name, but just to your own work, and this should be a great feeling,not? We in Eremation never wondered about it. Fireblade and I decided to create Outlaw mainly for having fun. We never cared too much about the groups image (in fact with 7 members would could have put the blame on us), and none of the other members got involved in our project. If you think these are just words, then just look at the new design of Outlaw, and you'll understand what we mean with the sentence 'having fun'. We tried to make something clean, but never seeked for fame. I have the feeling of being independent, even if our mag is a so called group mag. Anyway is there really something so special about running a mag for a group or just for your own? I still don't know. If you have a clue just let me know. ¾Can You Tell Our Dear Readers About Eremation, The Members, And The Productions Which Are Planned ? ¹Eremation, it's members and the planned projects? This will be a short anwser. Most of my contacts once asked what our group's name meant. The fact is that no one knows it. The two german dudes who formed this group in 1991, found this name sounded cool. The funny thing is the sence of this name if you read it in the other way: noitamere. This means in french something like 'drown your mother'. Of course it wasn't made on purpose. We are actually 7 members (2 coders, 2 musicians, 2 swappers and 1 graphician). We are not much but who cares. It's far too much. If you want to know who is part or not of the crew, get hold of a mag news section, as I have the feeling it would be a pain in your ass if you had to read a memberlist here. Our projects? Well we all dream of making a real demo and not just intros and dentros. But we have to get hold of a good design before making such a step. I'm actually coding an utility for swappers, a slide show, which will be a cooperation between Photos and Geist/NGC, and a king of magbox, for our new german member (Dire). I'm also working on a VR project for my school and there could be some applications for a new concept demo (surprise surprise...). Fireblade is recoding Outlaw, we can both guarantee a new kind of mag design, we put our common madness to make this design. But our most mind taking project, is the organization of the GASP, which will be held from 11.08.95 to 15.08.95 in Montpellier ( a 400 000 inhabitants town near the riviera). This one really takes a lot of our precious time, but it's kind of exciting ;-). I'm also willing to code an intro on Pc. Why? The main reason should be that I'm a bit stupid. As you can see we have a lot of projects, for such a low number of members, but how much will see the daylight? That's another story. ¾Whats Your Opinion About The Charts ? And Who Do You Like ? The Charts By Ram Jam Or The EuroCharts By Static Bytes! And Why ? ²Please turn page... ¶¶¹The charts seems to be quite good. They improved their design and came up with a couple of good ideas; namely reviewing the monthly best pictures modules and so on. I enjoyed the charts as they were released regularly, the fact is that they also get used to huge delays. The main interest I had in them was because of their monthly release, evrything fades away one day or another. They have enough voters, and there's not much to criticize about the design of the chart itself. The Eurocharts, have a great advantage, they are the chart reference since a couple of years. This surely puts them as the standard. The last Eurocharts issues were a bit better, but they still have to update and improve their code. Most of the voters of the Charts also vote in the Eurochart, so you can expect rather fair results. Both of those charts have strong and weak points. The fact is, that there's enough place for both of them. The charts also are here as an opponent for the eurocharts, this will push the eurocharts staff, to always improve their chart, and not lay down, and take a rest because of the past efforts. I personnaly enjoy both charts, but I have a little, feeble for the Eurocharts, as it's a bit older, and it reminds me in the good old days, when I discovered the scene (souvenirs, souvenirs!!!). Having a main chart in northern europe, and the other one in south of europe, it could give the scene a rather complete view over the productions and the scene itself. I believe both charts are complementary (does this word exist?... who cares!). Why such a question about charts (shall I vote for you or what?). ¾I Want You To Describe What The Following Words Means For You. ¾Elite: ¹Nothing!!! An old word that ruled the scene a couple of years ago. In fact what's elite. ¾Friendship: ¹A forgotten value. Real friendship is rare in the scene. If it can't be found in the whole scene, it should at least rule in every group. Friendship, is a new fashion, in the scene. I enjoyed those good old wars between Paradox and Angels. ¾Lamer: ¹Me, myself and I. Who is one who isn't. Lamer in my eyes elite in someone else's eye. It ruled the articles mag and I'm pleased this fashion faded away. ¾Hacker: ¹Guys who have some fun and thrills. I like it this word. ¾Cyberspace: ¹Also a new fashion word. Anyway, how could you turn your back to it, when you are a computer freak. ¾Sometimes You Read The Following Words ¹From Your New Contacts "Hope That You Are Not One Of Those Diskstealers". My Opinion To This Is That The Disks Is Today So Cheap So Why Care If You Losing A Disk Or Two. It's A Risk You Got To Take. What's Is Your Advise To People Who Are Afraid For Disk-Thiefs? ¹If one is afraid of diskstealers, then he should quit the scene. In fact none of the swappers I know, can tell he never lost a disk. I do not forgive the diskstealers, but I can understand it. As you wrote it it's a risk you take. I think this debate is kind of childish. It sounds a bit like: 'Mum, mum he has stolen my lolly pop...'. Wake up it's real life, scene ain"t a kind of heaven. Let's take another exemple. The guys who lost some disks would like to get them back (we can't blame him for that;-).What would happen to the same guy if he was seeking for a job and was rejected, would he ask the employer to give him the money he spend for the trip back? No he'd shut his big mouth and return home. Swapping is a risky business, get rid of the rules before starting it. If you know the rules and lose some disks, then do not complain. As long as I know nobody died because of a stolen disk. (ps: I never stole any disk, but lost some and never complained). Anyway the diskstealing subject is a new fashion for the article writers so let me jump to the next question. ¾What Do You Think About Girls In The Scene? And Why Are They So Few?. What's Your Advise To A Noviser-Girl? ²Please turn page... ¶¶¹What I do think about girls in the scene? Nothing special, girls are human beings, they aren't less clever than boys, and as far as I know there's no rule forbidding the girls to enter the scene. Of course some could cry and complain because, girls entered some groups just to gain some fame. I believe involving girls in groups was a kind of fashion a few years ago; but things changed. And we should be pleased that there are some girls that have some kind of interest in the scene. Don't you think the scene is a bit to much based upon males? Every scener hunts for a girlie, to share his life, but when a girls enters the scene he complains, ain't there a strange attitude. I'm so pleased that there are girls joining the scene. Let's give them a chance. Why they are so few? Perhaps are they not as stupid as we are. They much more interested in real life then in our virtual worlds. I believe girls could find interest in drawing,swapping and composing on computers, as these are normal activities you also could find in real life. The few girls coding, will rarely get a high level. Not that they are stupid, no; I think they are far too clever for spending hours long in front of a computer hunting for bugs. There's one thing the average scener should get: girls are different from boys, this should explain why we do not have the same interests in life. The interests, can also come from the education. Have you ever wondered why girls play with dolls? Just because of education. Often when a girl asks for a boy's toy, the parents are afraid. Furthermore girls are mature earlier than boys. Most of the sceners even the older one, have a teenager mind and attitude (it's not general of course). Have you ever wondered why girls are expecting for babies when they reach their twentieth, and you at the same age are not willing to ear about babies. This is due to the fact that girls have this mother feeling. We are different thats the main point. I would like to point out something else. Compared to the number of selled computers, sceners are a minority. Suppose a computer seller sold 1000 computers. ²Please turn page... ¶¶¹If 30 computers were bought by girls, and if 50 of those buyers entered the scene, then the percentage gives us one girl entering the scene. The number of girlies in the scene is normal compared to the number of computers bought by girls. The main differences have to been searched in the genes and the education. But as I wrote it before, we should be happy with girls entering the scene. You aren't convinced? Then pick up a girl and show her some demos look at her attitude, if she's still there after the second demo then you are a lucky guy. I tried it with a girl friend. She saw a demo and told, 'well it's nice but after 2 minutes it's enough'. An advice to a girl beginner? If you have interest in the scene and computers,then just do it you way, don't care about stupid critics and act normally. You may have to fight to get consideration but it might be worth it at the end. Can you mention, lets say the five biggest groups in Sweden, and tell something short about them? ¹Why should the swedish scene die? If it dies, I guess it'll be because the whole scene has died. The same fact is happening is most of the countries. Everyone is expecting for the newcomers to hit the scene but it looks like as if the scene is getting older, the newcomers aren't there and it looks as if everything is slightly fading away. I hope we won't have to turn the page of scene's history. Mentioning the five biggest swedish crews will be a bit hard for me as I cut a bit my relations to the scene. The one and only groupd really coming to my mind now is Razor, in fact the reborn Razor. They had the potential, but I'm not sure they used it the best way. Th swedish scene seems to be less important than it used to be. I remember the time when we looked at Sweden as one of the best scene countries. Things changed due to the leaving of some leading groups, but I'm not sure the situation will last that long. In fact it's up to you, guys of the new generation, to make things change. You have the anwser in your hands. You are the one who will decide througout your work if Sweden will raise again or not. ¾Well Thank You For The Infounative Conversation!
