F.M.K. Ripper ©1993 O.T.T. This thing is not PD - it's Shareware (hope U know the difference). So, waddahell is dis thingy anyway??? Yes, well it's another ST/NT/PT Module ripper with some special features. For a start - note that it will run only under KS 2.04 or higher so if U still own a 1.2 or 1.3 machine then upgrade fast (U won't regret this). With this ripper U are able to scan for mods not only memory, but files and disks also! Think - U have a cool megademo with a hot tune, but darned!!! It won't stay in memory after boot. Yet now U have a possibility to scan the whole disk for mods, so if it's not packed and it really is ST/NT/PT module then pronto! It's yours. I know that some of U think that all this ripping stuff is "bad form" - I completely agree with this - Yes it's uncool if someone else is jerking around with Your tune. I know this because I myself write some tunes too and it really sucks when some bastard makes fun of it. Know what I mean? But then again - what is cool music made for - for enjoying of course. Picture this: Game/Demo with not-bad tune. Every time I want to listen this hot muzak I must quit my current job, reboot my Amiga (on most cases) and then at long last I can hear it. So it's much easier and more convenient just to start my Multi Player (Very big thanx to Bryan Ford for this) and select the Module I want. So in the tediousiest work I have to do, I can still enjoy the sound of the Shadow of the Beast (Actually ripped with Action Replay), music of some Megademo or anything. Example: Writing this doc, I enjoy the tune from "Technological death" megademo (which is very hot indeed), yes, it just ended the 13-th loop so why not change the beat to the tune from Spaceballs State Of the Art (which is hot too ;) - see what I mean ? I don't have to boot my Miggy, waste my time with waiting the demo to load etc. I just select the mod I want. So dudes out there, don't think I'm an ordinary lamer - I just like your muzak and that's it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- About using: This proggy is actually easy to use just click on the gadget U want and thats it. Still a little bit info about using: "MML to report" gadget: There is always some data wich looks like module, but isn't. Every time some possible data is found the whole module length will be calculated and before reporting about it to user the module length will be comapred to the current settings. So if U set MML to 700K then if module is bigger than 700 K then only a note about it will appear and scan will be continued. Default setting is 500 K (actually haven't seen any module bigger than 500 K) but to be sure U can always set the MML to Unlimited - then U will see every possible data found. If something was found and U think this might be the module then U can save it. Note that I havn't included any player routine to this ripper (which is a bit uncool of course) so U just have to save the thing and try to load it to some player or tracker to try it out. Maybe I'll write some upgrade to this and then I might even include the feature to play the mod (at least samples). Every scan mode can be aborted by holding down the Escape key. Things U need to run this ripper: Amiga :) KS 2.04 or greater System library: ASL.library (for filerequester :) A little bit of good old mem. And now these common lines: Got any suggestions? Found any bugs? Just drop me a line. If U think U need this proggy and intend to use it often then send a fee of $5 or $10 or $15 or $20 or GVP Turbo cards (at least 040) or 1G (or more) HD's to address shown below. I might even send U some cool mods or some other tools I have written (or we can exchange them). If U like this idea then just send me disk also with fee and I check out what I can do.
