MakeDisk - An AmigaDOS 2.0 or above script file to create Sample Disks MakeDisk is the support program for "No Sampler?" Part 2. It will do the following... * Format a disk * Create directories for the samples. The defaults are : Bass Chords Drums+Percussion Lead SoundFX SynthSounds Vocals This file could save you half an hour at the CLI or a good ten minutes at SID! The script is Freeware. This means that you can copy it for all your friends and pass it around as much as you like as long as a) My name is not deleted b) It is on this disk. If you want to distribute it elsewhere, you must get written permission from me. Contact me at my address in the file on this disk. c) No more than £2 is charged for this disk You can change the names of the directories if you like, just load the file into any good text editor e.g. MEMacs on the Workbench Extras disk. To use the script you must have the following commands in your boot disk's C directory - Format Makedir RMouse (in the C directory of this disk) Execute Check37 (in the C directory of this disk) Copy Delete You must also have a RAM disk set up. Workbench or this disk will do this for you automatically. To use Makedisk simply type (at a CLI prompt) Execute Makedisk The file will load and run automatically. The easiest way is to load the file using THIS disk, though. I have included an icon so the program can be copied through Workbench if you so desire. The program cannot be run through Workbench. You will need to rename your disk once it has been created. You can do this from the No Sampler? Utilities disk aswell. Simply click on the option in the menu. A bar will appear on the screen. Remove the No Sampler? disk and put your samples disk into drive df0: Type in the new name and press return. **************************** Important Notes: ******************************* The MakeDisk script file is ©1993 Michael Richmond and MUG. No persons other than me or a MUG representative may distribute the file as a part of any disk other than the No Sampler Utilities Disk without my or MUG's permission. My name (Michael Richmond) must not be deleted from the file. No PD library may sell this disk with the Makedisk file on for more than 2 pounds. If you paid more than 2 pounds for this disk (not including postage and packing) demand a refund. It is simply not in the spirit of PD to sell for £3 a program that can be bought from another library at only £1 or less. MakeDisk can't be removed from this disk (except for your own use) without either my, or MUG's, written permission. I am not to be held responsible for any loss or damage incurred by the proper or improper use of the MakeDisk script. I have tested it many times on many system configurations. Make sure all your disks except for the blank are write-protected at all times when using the utility. The best ideas will be implemented in MakeDisk version 2 (In No Sampler? Utilities volume two, if I get enough rippers etc.) and I might even include the best "remixed" versions (if I get any).
