Slate! is a Video Production Tool. As a professional video tape editor, I 
found a need for a program (Slate! as a matter of fact) that will do some
of the things that I've become accustomed to at work. Instead of having to use
a paint program every time I wanted to create a video screen with some
information about my latest video, and running Sonix! to set my record audio
levels, AND then manually counting down my times for video blacks and ...you
probably get the idea, Slate! was born after a couple of nights of playing.

Slate! will do the following.

	Display a slate (suprise!) with the following items;
		Title:
		Scene:
		Client:
		Director:
		Editor:
		Comments:
		Date & Time

	All items may be changed at any time, indivudally or together.

	Display video Black for Initializing a tape for insert editing.

	Start a reverse 10 count (with beeps).

	Automagic Tape preping (10 sec slate w/ cal tone,5 sec black,10 count)

	Audio Calibration Tone Toggle.

To use the program, simply click on the Slate! icon from the workbench or run
from the CLI.

Most of the features are self explanitory. You are allowed 2 comment lines to
enter text. The Clear command under the Project menu will clear the current
slate. The New command under the Project menu will prompt you for all the
items in the new slate, after clearing the old slate.

Weird Things (not quite bugs...)

Audio is output on one channel only. This is a Weird Thing i'm investigating.

The executable is 87k-ish big. Sorry. This is a limitation of the True Basic
runtime compiler. It won't link only the pertinant parts, it links everything.
Hopefully True Basic 2.0 will fix this.

The left-most menu, is just a glorified About menu, with a dedication.

Bugs

The Date display at the bottom is one day fast (you can toggle it by using
the BLACK command). I'm not sure why this is happining but i suspect it 
is buried in the True Basic Advanced String library.
If anyone has any suggestions SEND THEM!!

Slate!'s Future

As it stands, Slate! does most of the things that I need it to do. If I can
pare the size of it down, I will.  If you are using Slate! and need it
