VIDEO FONTS 5 This is disk number 5 in the video fonts collection, with fonts chosen for their usefulness in video. The Fonts pictures can be displayed by double clicking on the picture icons. These pictures are compressed by PowerPacker and can be press the letter p while they are being displayed. Showfont lets you view the entire character set of each of the fonts and is included on all of the fonts disks. This release is the largest yet, thanks to some very sophisticated file compression. In fact, uncompressed, there is over 2 megabytes of data on this disk. Because of this, the fonts must first be installed before they can be used. To install from the cli, type "cd pathname" where pathname is the location you want them installed. Then type Videofonts5:videofonts, and press return. Do the same thing with videofonts2 and videofonts3. Automatic script installation is provided by scripts letting you install into ram:, dh0:, or df0:. You will need one megabyte of free space for the ram: or dh0: installation. The df0: installation requires two floppies. Single drive users must use the CLI if they want to do floppy disk installation (sorry). The NTSC font is an antialiased Colorfont. It requires you to use the Colorfont utility that comes with DPaint if you are not running under Workbench 2.0. Also included on this disk are two lo-res animfonts. In their origianl form, these fonts are almost 900k. Thanks to PowerPacker compression, they have been reduced to 333k, a savings of almost two thirds. To use them, though, they must first be decompressed. The script that does this checks to see if you have the arp.library, and if not, it loads it for you. It then uses the PowerPacker Decompress utility to move install the fonts on to one of three devices- Ram: Dh0: or Df0:. A requester will prompt you through this. Roll is 434k after decompression, and Spin is 465k, so they will both not fit on a single floppy. To see these fonts in action, double-click on the Fonts.anim icon. This disk was created on August 18, 1991. DISK CATALOG (current as of August 18, 1991) AVG DISKS Each disk is packed full of utilities.
