You, like me, probably noticed the time difference after days, and although this isn't lifethreathning, I find it very annoying ! Ofcourse, you can always check yourself what date/time your system 'thinks' it is, but why not a util that does this for you, and gives you the opportunity to adjust that time if it could be wrong ? What dates are wrong according to Clock Guardian V1.0 ? ------------------------------------------------------- All dates before 1992, and after 2050 and all dates before the one Clock Guardian V1.0 was used before and had the opportunity of disk-write-access ! How to Install Clock Guardian ! ------------------------------- Edit your startup-sequence, in a way that ClockGuardianV1.0 is in it and will be executed. Place the Commands Run, SetClock and Date in your 'C' directory. ClockGuardianV1.0 may be placed anywhere you like it and you may rename the ClockGuardianV1.0 file for instance to CG. ClockGuardian.prefs MUST be placed in the 'SYS' directory, if not it will be created by ClockGuardianV1.0 itself ! Finally place ClockGuardianV1.0.Manual ( This file ) anywhere you think it is fun to place it. WARNING ! The SetClock command must know the options LOAD, SAVE and RESET ( If you use the SetClock, Run and Date commands as available on your Workbench V1.3 there should be no problem ) How to use Clock Guardian ! --------------------------- If you keep the Left-Mousebutton pressed while loading ClockGuardianV1.0, a window will be opened, and you can adjust the date and time eventhough they are correct. If the ClockGuardianV1.0 window has appeared you can make the following decisions : press the /\ button if you want to increase the date/time or the \/ button if you want to decrease the date/time if you have pressed the /\ or \/ button ( default is /\ ), you can in- or decrease the date/time by pressing one of the 6 buttons ( day(s), month(s), year, hour(s), minute(s) or second(s) ). If you press one of the 6 buttons mentioned with your left-mousebutton it will in-or decrease with 1, if you press it with the right-mousebutton it will in- or decrease with 10, if you press it with both or the middle mousebutton it will in- decrease with 5. The button at the bottom of the window says 'DONE' press this if you are done and want to exit ClockGuardianV1.0 You might have noticed the little button right of the second(s) button, and wondered what it does ! Well, if you press that button there will apear 3 new buttons button one either contains the text 'V1.2 & V1.3' or 'V2.0'. Why ? you may ask, well the Workbench V2.0 switches colour 1 and colour 2. Just try the button and you will know why this is a problem. The second button says 'DONE' well that's it actually, press it when done. The third buttons says 'EXCLUSIVE FOR UGA' just press this one and there will be 11 more lines of very important information ! Now some legal stuff : ---------------------- Clock Guardian V1.0 may be copied freely, as long as there is no money charged for it and no changes of any kind are made to ClockGuardianV1.0, and ClockGuardianV1.0.Manual ! And ClockGuardianV1.0 MUST be copied together with it's manual ( ClockGuardianV1.0.Manual ) !
