Amiga Desktop Video Power ($29.95), by Abacus, is an updated, expanded and enhanced version of Abacus' "Amiga Desktop Video Guide". It covers such Amiga 'vidiot' (rhymes with 'idiot') topics as genlocks, digitizing, frame grabbers, DCTV, and the Video Toaster. For the Amiga owner who wants to explore the power of Amiga video, this text is worth examining. Amiga ROM Kernel Reference Manual: Includes and Autodocs, Third Edition ($38.95), by Addison-Wesley, is 1003 pages of information vital to program- mers seeking to understand WorkBench 2.0. AmigaDOS Inside & Out, Revised ($24.95), by Abacus, focuses on the workings of AmigaDOS, from its internal design to its application. Topics include the CLI (use and scripts), multi-tasking, and the graphic users interface (GUI). Also provided is a companion disk full of program examples useful for gaining a fuller understanding of the workings of the Amiga. AmigaDOS Manual, Third Edition ($24.95), by Bantam Books, is a 447 page, three part discussion and reference for all the functions and commands of AmigaDOS, including the most recent 2.04. Part One is the User's Manual; Part Two is the Developer's Manual; and Part Three is the Technical Refer- ence Manual. Fast Guide to Amiga CLI ($8.95), by Vidia, is a book intended as a quick and speedy reference guide to the commands of AmigaDOS 1.3 and 2.0. These are alphabetized, and many examples are supplied to aid in the use and understanding of each command and its options. The book even points out those places where versions 2.0 1.3 diverge, as well as supplying informa- tion about such matters as piping, pattern matching, scripts, devices, redirection and file names. For less than ten dollars, this book is a very good buy! Using ARexx on the Amiga ($34.95), by Abacus, is a book and disk combina- tion, furnishing the user -- new or advanced -- with a thorough guide to the ARexx programming language.
