Mays (C) 1992 International Connections Feb 1992 Well what is the european market for the Amiga? Basically, wherever there is a main Commodore headquarters. Commodore only covers the major european countries that are either in the european economic community (those countries having members in the european parliament) and smaller well populated countries like Switzerland. The actual current listing of Commodore offices in Europe is in: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany,Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom There are other countries supported by Commodore to include: Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and United States Planning to buy or sell software in Europe? Well these countries should be your first choice to look for various software. The sad part is that there are many parts of the european region which has Amigas due to tourism or international military installations. My entire list of the european region consists of: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechoslavakia, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Gilbraltar, France, Finland, Hungary, (Iceland), Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City, Yugoslavia, (USSR) I have been to almost all of these areas and have found that there are "Amigans" in countries not supported by Commodore. Countries like Yugoslavia contain a good number of user groups and Amiga fans. Stores located mainly in Belgrade (Beograd) sell Amigas with other store that can be found near the Opatija-Rijeka areas. Luxembourg has a few private Amiga bulletin board systems, user groups, and stores selling Commodore software. So the deal I'm tring to pass on to you is contact your local Commodore branch and ask who supports what country and why. Maybe you live in Finland and want to know if the Denmark branch supports you. What about Czechoslavakia? You could have a team of people who want to develop software but there is no local Commodore branch. Why not try the Austrian branch? Since the european market differs in each country due to the language, cost of living, VAT, economics, and sociology, contact the nearest Commodore branch and find out about the local user groups, official Amiga magazines/newsletters, and other support they'll give you for your hard earned money. Also: note the main european headquarters is the Commodore branch in FrankFurt, Germany.
