Who doesn't know the album of Pink Floyd called 'The Wall'. After a rather
disappointing performance in Berlin last year the english group 'Split
Dimension' must have had the idea to pump the image up a little.
The result is a not a normal megademo but a 'Split Dimension' megademo. Then
take in mind the megademo comes on 6 disks and you know why this demo is
mega.

The megademo requires at least a 2nd drive that is called 'DF1:'.
Other names won't work, a shame. Furthermore the demo would run correctly on
my Amiga (It did on another 1.2 Amiga 500) and due to some disk errors it
wasn't possible to watch the demo entirely (but that isn't the fault of the
programmers is it!)

The first thing that strikes you when you insert the first two disks is that
the programmers made a good job. It must been a lot of work. Digitized
pictures and music from original Pink Floyd creations. Electra, Vogad and
Caltec did their best. After some introduction and information the demo
starts with :
1: The bombers. This features an combination of vectorgraphics, normal
graphics, sound and some animation. A town is being bombed by vectorplanes
(finally a scriptdemo with vectors used do really animate something rather
than swing around a bit).
2: The cross. A impression of airraid and it's victims. Animations of diving
plane and marching soldiers. Atmosphere music and a cross where the blood is
visible to show how useless the killing is.
3: The dove. The peacedove that is. Again a good animated vectordove (never
gets tired) and a nice background scene. This demo has all bodycounts of
world war 2 per country. The total casulaties where up to 55 million !
4: The war. Now this what I call a little story demo. A scene view a of a
town by night and the airattack alarm sounds. All lights go out except one..
A tank comes by and the commanders says 'Put that light out'.
Spotlights are positioned and a cannon also. The overflying bombers are taken
under fire by the cannon. After a while you can the explosions on the
background and the bombers return as crosses.
5: The teacher. Symbolizing the influence a teacher has on kids and that he
has the power to let him do whatever he wants. This demo also contains
digitized music of the most famous title on the Pink Floyd album. After a
while the scene changes and schoolboys get mangled into saucages. (Does this
implicate something ?!?)
Pink Floyd : This one is a commercial that urges you to get the 'The Wall'
video and CD. A nice animation of a rabbit presenting Pink Floyd opens the
demo and a sine-scroller (yes the programmers where english).

At this time I had two disks left but due to a faulty disk that's as far as I
came so expect the rest of the review next time.
