Since the main act of this proggy is to slaughter Viruses, I only put a few Utility-BootBlocks in the BrainFile like: PvL, GrandBoot, BootLeg etc ... In future updates more entries of this kind may be added. Instructions for how to use: How to install: ----------------- Boot VP (From CLI or WorkBench) Select Preferences by pressing required gadgets. If You have second thoughts about booting VP, just press ABORT. Otherwise press ACTIVATE to reset ... =LOWPASS FILTER= Keeps led on, enables low freq. to pass. - =HIGHPASS FILTER= Turns led off, enables high freq. to pass. =STANDARD DOS= Any dos read/write is done in normal speed. - =SPEEDUP DOS= Any dos read/write is done 10 to 12% faster. (Your drive MAY report READ/WRITE-ERRORS) =NTSC= Normal CLI window (640*200) - =PAL= Extended CLI window (640*256) (No USA) (Pre-selected on European machines) Holding LEFT MOUSEBUTTON at reset will remove VP from memory. How to use: ------------- Insert disk to boot (Just as you normally would do) If VP finds a STANDARD BootBlock nothing happens. It just boots it, and no harm is done... If a NONSTANDARD BootBlock was found, an alert is prompted: 1. An Unknown BootBlock 2. A xxxxx Virus 3. A xxxxx Utility etc... If a Virus was found by name (100% sure!), just install it. An unknown BootBlock will be analyzed. Perhaps this was a virus. It's up to the experienced user to decide. Use to view Analyzis-Report. (This is only possible, IF VP found anything.) WELCOME executes the BootBlock. (Perhaps running a virus???) BYPASS will run a STANDARD BootBlock, not installing the disk. INSTALL replaces the BootBlock with a STANDARD BootBlock. VIEW will show the BootBlock in ASC-II. REPORT shows the results of the analyzis-report. Link-Viruses: --------------- Beyond the Boot-Analysis, VP searches for Link-Viruses. If a Virus is spotted, press or to either destroy it or leave it (NOOO!!!) The Link-Virus is removed in 2 ways: 1. Delete the infected file and rebuild the original file. The infected file will be corrected and removed from startup-seq. 2. Delete the infected file, but cannot rebuild original file!?!? This is due to the act of the individual viruses. (SORRY) The infected file well be removed from path and startup-sequence. (In further updates, I'll implement a routine to salvage the original file 100% -like pnt.1) (Can anybody help me???) !!! !! ! If a "RETURN OF THE LAMER" or "DISK-VALIDATOR" is found it has ALLREADY gotten into memory. Please follow the on-screen informations ... This is the final version of VP.
