Synopsis:
--------
Quik_Labels IS OS2.0 SPECIFIC. It will not boot with OS1.3 or lower.
If you haven't upgraded yet, you really don't know what you are missing.

Quik_Labels is just short, sweet labelbase utility which will keep track
of twelve, much used, mailing labels of the (3 1/2" x 15/16") variety.

Quik_Labels may be run through Intuition or the CLI.

Saving and loading is all automatic. The program detects a file change
and will act on this variable accordingly.


Purpose:
-------
To make my life a little more easier. (and maybe yours too)


Defaults:
--------
When Quik_Labels takes off it looks for a file in the S: directory
called `caps.labels'. This file must be there or the program will fold
upon initial boot.

I plan to write a short script for the not-so-agile Amiga user which will
copy this file to the correct location. It will be included in this
archive. Anyway, just get `caps.labels' into the S: directory anyway you
can.

Quik_Labels defaults to the topaz8.font for the gadget text.



The Main Window:
---------------
Upon viewing the opening window, it may be determined that there are three
groups of GadTools Gadgets.

    Window left:    Three button gadgets, (ADD, PRINT, and DELETE),
                    with a pair of mx'ers, (current and global).

    Window center:  Five string gadgets, (NAME, ADDRESS, CITY, STATE and
                    ZIP), along with a slider gadget, (SCROLL FILE).


    Window right:   Three checkbox gadgets, (NLQ, ELITE, and CONDENSED).

WINDOW RIGHT:
------------
    ADD:        Click here and you may add a new label to the labelbase.
                If you have 12 labels in the labelbase when you select
                ADD, (full labelbase), the screen will flash bringing
                this fact to your attention. Delete a label, then you
                may select ADD.

    PRINT:      You may print your labels in two different ways. The
                method is governed by the two mx gadgets, (current and
                global), the current gadget being the default.

                If current is selected you may print the current label as
                many times as you wish. Just enter a value into the
                integer gadget when the print current window appears.
                There is a testprint option here to help you align your
                labels.

                If global is selected you may print the entire labelbase
                with multiple copies of each label. Enter the number of
                copies you desire into the integer gadget in the print
                global window. There is a testprint option here also.

                Both routines offer an abort gadget.

    DELETE:     The two mx gadgets, (current and global), also govern
                the delete method desired.

                If current is hi-lighted and->(&&) DELETE is selected, you
                may delete the current label.

                If global is hi-lighted and DELETE is selected, you may
                delete the entire labelbase with the exception of the
                first label.


WINDOW CENTER:
-------------
    NAME, ADDRESS, CITY, STATE, and ZIP:
                Good ol' string gadgets. Click in one to activate it.
                Click in one to edit data. Don't forget to hit enter while
                making changes or adding.

                You may use the tab key to toggle forward between the
                string gadgets or use shift tab to toggle backwards.
                This is an OS2.0 exclusive.

                When adding or modifying data the tab key will set your
                new string into the gadgets buffer.


    SCROLL FILE:
                Click on either side of the knob to scroll either
                forwards or backwards through the labels. If, for
                instance, there are only three labels present in the
                labelbase, the knob will not travel beyond position three.


WINDOW RIGHT:
------------
    NLQ, ELITE, and CONDENSED:
                These are your print styles. Select any combination of
                these gadgets to the style desired. On some printers,
                Elite pitch will override Condensed pitch such as on
                my Epson 24 pin.
