==================  MIDIEX File Transfer Utilities  ======================


If possible copy the two files in the LIBS directory (on this disk) to the
LIBS directory of your boot disk. These files (arp.library & midi.library)
are needed to run TSX and RSX. IF your boot disk is full double click on
the assign icon to temporarily assign the libs directory to this disk, when
finished double click the Sys-Assign icon to assign LIBS back to the
system.

**NOTE**  The assign script addresses this volume by name, the disk must be
named "SysXloader" (minus quotes of course). 

To change the volume name use a text editor to edit the "Assign" file on
this disk, then rename the disk.

Here's an example:

                      wait 3

assign script:        echo "Assign LIBS: to Volume PROTEUSBANKS"

Rename disk to PROTEUSBANKS.

TSX:

   Clicking on the TSX icon will open a requester, select the directory
and filename, click on accept or hit return to transmit,

RSX:

   RSX is in the experimental stages right now, it is not 100% reliable.
(partly because of the Amiga serial.device). High speed transfers tend to
lose a byte now & then. It's possible the new serial.device in OS 2.04
will correct the problem.

   RSX will often have errors capturing a 17k (16960) PROteus file yet has
no problem saving a 64k YAMAHA SY77 voice dump, simply because of the
transfer rate.

PROteus\1 uses 64 separate SysEx dumps to transfer a bank.  (16960 bytes)
MT-32     uses 64 separate SysEx dumps to transfer a bank.  (17024 bytes)
KORG M3r  can use a single dump to transfer all data.       (23963 bytes)
MATRIX_6r uses 100 separate SysEx dumps to transfer a bank. (30404 bytes)
DX-7      uses a single dump to transfer a bank.            (4104 bytes)
TX81-Z    uses a single dump to transfer a bank.            (4104 bytes)
FB-01     uses a single dump to transfer a bank.            (6363 bytes)

   The MAIN purpose of this disk is for commercial patch vendors to have
an AMIGA loader disk that provides simple & reliable operation.
