FileReq v.1.0 This is documentation for source of "FileReq" v.1.0. This program belongs to shareware and it's alternative to standard Amos Pro file requester. Copyright © 1994 Dariusz J. Garbowski Testing: Krzysztof Szydelko ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "FileReq" is a procedure written in Amos Pro. It's a program of file requester. It's advantages: - opening on active screen (no black places on the flank as in the Amos req), - you can open requester with right size in any place on the screen (for example autocentering), - great possibilities of changing appearance of requester (colors, header, gadgets and edition zones); only registered version (unregistered version can be run only on 4-coloured screens), - storing directory, - taking out global variables with directory size, path, file name, flag and others, - two work trybes: Double-Click with possibility of changing waiting time, Normal - you have to click Ok, - and all advantages you will see when you will work with it. This program is NOT compatible with Amos 1.xxx versions - Sorry... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before using you have to declare global arrays TEMP$() and CAT$(), the best way to do it: Dim TEMP$(n),CAT$(n) Global TEMP$(),CAT$() where n - maximum size of directory (n=255 when using unregistered version) Format: Proc FILEREQ[NR_,X1,Y1,X2,Y2,COMM_$,CAT$,REQ_FILE$,REQ_FLAG,_COL1_] where: NR_ - interface channel number, which will be used, X1,Y1 - define the position of the top left corner of the req; the X1 coordinate will be rounded to the nearest multiple of eight, when X1=-1, x will be centered on the screen, when Y1=-1, y will be centered; (when both coordinates will be equal to -1, requester will be opened in central place of the screen), X2,Y2 - width and height of requester (in chars), COMM_$ - title text (only in registered version), CAT$ - path, REQ_FILE$ - default file name, REQ_FLAG - bitmap: bit 0: 0 - sizes off 1 - sizes on bit 1: 0 - first possibility of edit lines apperance 1 - second one bit 2: 0 - reading disk directory 1 - taking directory from TEMP$() _COL1_ - backup color number; next colors will be computed: _COL1_+1 - text color, etc., _COL1_+2 - slider color. Procedure returns: Param$ - path with file name; when CANCEL string is empty. In global variables (if you have declared them): REQ_FLAG - bitmap (see above); user can change it by clicking sizes gadget!, REQ_TRACK$ - path only, if CANCEL it needn't be empty!, REQ_FILE$ - file name only, if CANCEL same as above, REQ_CATY - directory lenght (files+dirs), REQ_WAIT - waiting time for 2nd click (Double-Click), basic unit is 1/50 sec (PAL) or 1/60 sec (NTSC); =0 - NORMAL; If you gonna use Double-Click you gotta declare REQ_WAIT as global and write waiting time in it, REQ_ERROR$ - text string containing Amos error number in first 8 chars, and Interface error number in next 8 chars; if empty - all right. These global variables you can use as a parameters to next procedure calling. (See example). If you wanna directory taken from TEMP$() - this array MUST NOT be changed. FileReq uses (added to source): DEVS - written specially for FileReq, _NO_END_SPACES - procedure cutting spaces at the end of the string variable; written by myself (Public Domain, read remarks inside it) NM_PREP - procedure which prepares file name; written by myself (Public Domain, see "New Amos Vision" article. It's included). WARNINGS: 1. Procedure sets 'Set Dir 80'. 2. Path can be max. 255 chars long. 3. File name can contain max. 100 chars (system uses 30 ones). 4. It is good to set greater variables buffer with 'Set Buffer' for at least 24kB. (Set Buffer 24) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About shareware ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This program is shareware.
