Draw More 1.1 © 1993 CYBORNETICS ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Draw More is Public Domain and may be freely distributed so long as it accompanied by this documentation file, and it remains unchanged. The Game Do you remember that game you used to play where a group of you would each draw part of a person, or animal, or whatever, and then fold over the paper so the next player couldn't see what you had drawn? Well, that is exactly what this is. The principal is the same, you just use the mouse instead of a pencil and the computer handles the rest. The Instructions Double click on the Draw-More icon and the game will load, the music will start and you will be presented with the main menu screen. From here you can select how many players you want, whether you want sound effects and music on or off, you can view the last picture you drew (only if you have drawn one!), and you can quit the program. To start the game you click with the left button on the number of players you want and away we go. The results are always funniest if the other player(s) don't look while each section is drawn, but decide which part of the drawing you are going to do first. You should now be presented with the drawing screen which will be divided up into the same number of sections as there are players. Each player is restricted to their own section and can see the bottom two lines of the previous players drawing, although they can only draw over the bottom line. If you press the left button you can start to draw in black ink whilst pressing the right button will pop a little grey menu from which you can select your drawing tools. The first icon represents single line drawing which, as if by magic, is the mode you start in and so is not going to do anything at the moment. The second and third icons are to change the size of the brush you are using, the third being the largest available. The mode you are currently in is displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen along with the colour and fill pattern currently selected. Back to the icons, and the last one on the top row is fill (Hi fill!). This will fill, in the colour and pattern selected, any adjacent pixels of the same colour as the pixel over which you pressed the left mouse button (the same as most art packages). The second row of icons are Fill Selector, Undo (Represented by a large "!"), Next Player, and Quit Game. Clicking on fill selector will bring up another menu with a large arrow on either side and a big box in the middle. The big box contains the current fill type, and the arrows will cycle through these. Clicking in the top left corner of the menu will close it and take you back to the main menu. The main menu is also closed by clicking in the top left corner or by selecting a Brush or Fill icon. The Undo icon will erase everything since you last pressed the left mouse button, the same as in most paint packages, and will undo fills of lines. The arrow icon means Next Player and will cover up your drawing (apart from the bottom two lines) and it is now the turn of the next player to draw their part. Alternativley, if you are the last player this icon will reveal the whole picture for everyone to see. The fourth icon is quit, there are two options, yes and no (see if you can work out how to operate them). The bottom two rows of icons are colour selection icons. This means that clicking on them will make that colour the active colour. This is shown in the bottom left corner of the screen with the fill pattern. Clicking on these will not close the menu, so if you want to close the menu after selecting a colour you will have to click in the top left corner. When every player has draw their part of the picture and it has been revealed you are presented with a Save as IFF option. Selecting NO from here will take you back to the main menu screen, selecting YES will present you with a file selector. From here you should choose the disk name and file name you wish to save the picture under, and then click on OK. After a short pause, while it saves to disk, you will return to the main menu. When you have left the program you can view your picture using a utility like PPShow or Vilbm, or you can load it into a paint package such as DPaint. Finally (at last!) if you select Last Pic from the main menu screen you can view the last picture you drew (assuming you have drawn one first). Pressing the left mouse button from this screen will return you to the main menu, but pressing the right button will allow you to save the picture. This is no use at all if you saved it when you finished drawing it, but if you didn't, and wish you did then you can, so there! That's just about all I can think of to write about this game and I have probably missed loads out. If you have any problems with the game, find any bugs in it, want to make a contribution to the CYBORNETICS WANT MORE P.D. fund, or you just feel compelled to reward me for my hard work with a small token of your appreciation (Hard Cash) then write to :- ROB, CYBORNETICS, 14 Buckingham Drive, Ely, Cambs, CB6 1DR. Special thanks to Stew for his help with the code and for doing the music and Matt and Dug of CYS for play testing and moaning about all the bugs (which I fixed). If you do not already have the first three CYBORNETICS disks (AND WHY NOT ???) then send me some blank disks, or better still some disks with some of your own stuff, or even better than that some cool P.D. demos or something, and I will copy them for you (I'm just such a nice guy). And Finally... Don't touch that dial cos we will be right back with CYBORNETICS Demo Disk 4, released in early '93.
