Hi there!

     The following is a little batch of tid-bits about the stuff on
this disk & myself. I put this here; because, I wanted to see how
many people would actually A - Look for it, or B - Care enough to
read it. So, if you stumbled across this by accident and aren't
really into tid-bits, then....... Hummmm, well, I guess you're just
screwed. :-) 

     I thought I'd start with some little bits on each of the mods:

Close to Me - This is VERY rare for me. I almost never do cover
tunes but I've always wanted to play around with the bass line on
this one and I just think it's such a cute little track, with good
sing-a-long potential. Most of the inspiration for this mix came
from the Closest mix, which was done by Paul Oakentale. Also, I
mentioned this in the mod but I'm going to repat it here, I'd like
to thank Eclipse for his help with tuning and melodies on this one.

Gennerator - This is solid dance techno mania. I got kind of
inspired for this one while I was at a huge party that one of the
local colleges was having. There was this killer rave and I tried
to bring that same energy to this mod. I think I've succeeded. :)

Graveyard Drift - This is kind of a concept song. The overtones are
very dark but the bass line and beat are very early technoish. I
just get this picture of a bunch of the zombies from "Night of the
Living Dead" dancing like mad every time I listen to it. 

Karnival - This was the very first mod I ever made, and it shows.
:) It's not really that bad. It's kind of a silly satire of pop
music. The reason for the title is that, in some places, the melody
synth takes on a lot of the sound of a steel drum, which fits right
in with Carnival, in Rio. Thats it! It's pop, with a twist. 

Indian Fever - I know what you're thinking, and NO! This song is
NOT intended as a slur to any cultural/racial group. It originated
as an attempt to cross hip-hop and hard core techno. I serves this
purpose, to an extent, but, when I added the screaming samples and
re-did the blasts, it started to sound like some of the tribal
dances that I'd heard when studying native american music last
term, hence the name. 

Soloist - Although this song is a bit out of place with the rest of
the disk, I just felt it necessary to show that I can produce more
"classical" sounding pieces when I want to. Besides, it's good for
a rest after you've been flailing around to "Indian Fever" for 15
minutes. :)

Technocrat - This is the centerpiece of the disk. It's ,by far, the
most complex/time consuming mod I've ever worked on. The general
theme is that of trying to "civilize" techno and bring it down to a
more standard dance music level. Every time I listen to it, I have
a different reaction to it. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate
it, but I always dance!!! 

End - I wasn't even going to mention this one but I knew they'rd be
someone who would say. "What about that thing that plays at the
end?" I just felt the need to "end" the disk with something. I
mean, "Technocrat" is climactic anough but I wanted to have 
something playing one the "THE END" screen, so I just went nuts 
with an old Shakuhachi sample and a lone hi-hat. No inspiration 
here, just echoes in the ivory towers. 

     Well, those are the tracks. What about the pics? Well, those
are all by me but I don't feel myself that great an artist, or the
subject important enough, to go into detail on those. If you're
really that interested, send me E-Mail and I might feel daring some
day and mail you back. 

     Now I know that a lot of you users with an overactive sense of
morality might be tempted to send me some $s for this little "demo"
but I didn't do it for money. I did it for power and attention. :)
Just kidding! No, I did it; becuse, I love the Amiga and music, and 
I think that Shareware and paying for PD is total BULL SHIT! 
Especially when it comes to demos/musix, but, if, by chance, you
happen to own a record company or something like that, don't
hesitate to get in touch with me. Alter all, this is what I want
to do for a living.  

     So, who is this VorTech guy anyway? Well, as of right now,
March 1st, 1993. I'm an 18 year old college freshman who thought he
was going to be a CS major, untill he realized that the only
computers he liked were Amigas and that he liked music a whole lot
more than he liked computers. If you want to know more than that,
you're too nosey! 

     I've just about run out of things to write about so I'm going
to wrap this up. I sincerely hope you enjoy the musix and listen to
it till the disk goes bad. I also want to thank all my friends who
helped me with suggestions on the mods and the format of the disk.
