Version 2.0 6/26/93

 1. There are a few predefined example ARexx macros included in
    this release.  They are installed automatically in your Rexx: assigned
    directory.  You can assign those macros to Function Keys in the program
    by choosing Assign Macro from the Macros Menu, opening the file you
    want assigned to the chosen Function Key, and pressing the MODIFY button.
    These macros are included as examples of the type of macros and ARexx
    scripts that can be created and written for use in DeluxeMusic.
    Choosing Save Settings from the Settings Menu will save your Assigned
    Macros as tooltypes (see the DeluxeMusic Reference Card for more info
    on tooltype settings.)

 2. The global ARexx port name for DeluxeMusic gets only the name of the
    currently active window.  If the window is deactivated and some other
    window becomes active (Workbench for example), messages sent through
    the global port will bounce and fail.  Users should always directly
    address a particular document through the document's port rather than
    through the global port.

 3. For best results in printing, set your Score width to equal the Print
    width.  The Print width is the current page and paper settings you
    may have set for your Printer Preferences.  Choosing Print As... from
    the Project Menu displays and lets you edit the current paper width
    for your chosen Preferences Printer.  The program's Score width is
    modified in the Score Setup Window under the Settings Menu.

 4. There is an additional attribute to the ARexx commands: CHANGEITEM and
    CHANGESELECTED.  The additional parameter is NOFIX which disables
    the re-sorting of notes while editing a score via an ARexx script.

    Proper use of this new parameter is as follows:
    a. Lock the GUI while editing
    b. Lock the display while editing
    c. Use new ARexx command RESORTEVENTS when finished editing.

 5. There is a French Catalog included with this release that displays
    DeluxeMusic's menus and requestors in French.  To enable this
    feature, you must copy the Catalog drawer included on your DeluxeMusic
    program disk to your DeluxeMusic drawer on your hard drive and set
    the Catalogs tooltype of the DMusic icon.  At the Workbench, select
    the DMusic icon and choose Information from the Icon or Workbench menu.
    Select New, and type:
    Catalog=Device:DeluxeMusic/Catalogs/Français/dmcs.catalog
    The French c is typed alt-c on an English keyboard.  Device is the name
    of the hard drive partition your DeluxeMusic directory is installed on.
    Floppy users only need to set the tooltype on their installed disk.
    On a default floppy install, the tooltype would be set to:
    Catalog=DeluxeMusic2.0:DeluxeMusic/Catalogs/Français/dmcs.catalog

    Note: Using foreign language catalogs requires AmigaDOS 2.1 or greater.

 6. The Set Tempo requestor has an additional button:
    Set Default Tempo: this button sets a global default tempo for a score.

 7. The loading, converting, and reformatting of old DMCS scores into
    DeluxeMusic, especially large scores, will take longer the first
    time.  Once saved out as CMUS, the time it takes to open it again
    should be less, although, please be aware that the CMUS format saves
    much more information than the DMCS format previously did, so in some
    cases the load time will be just as long or longer than before.

 8. Opening and Saving scores in Simple MIDI File format is not perfect.
    We wanted to give you a way to load and save files to and from
    different platforms, but please be forwarned that complicated score
    files with multiple tracks, complex rhythms, times, etc. may not
    load or save to your liking in this program.  We have tried to make the
    MIDI file i/o support as good as possible given the time we had.

    Note: If there are eight or fewer tracks in a score, it is saved
    as a MIDI Type 0 file.  If there are more than eight tracks in a
    score, it is saved as a MIDI Type 1 file.

 9. The DMPlayer is for non-commercial distribution only. Licensing for
    commercial distribution is available.  Instruments are copyright and
    not for redistribution without written permission.  We suggest saving
    your scores for distribution in CMUS with embedded instruments.

10. The Top Margin feature in the Score Setup window is ignored when there
    are more staves in a score than can fit on a page.

11. Amiga DOS 1.3 Users only: The DMPlayer requires the iffparse.library
    to be installed on your Workbench disk in the libs: assigned drawer.
    For the use of menus and a file requestor, the DMPlayer requires the
    ASL13.library installed on your Workbench disk in the libs: drawer.
