Well, this time it may not work at all. My a500 with ks 1.3 and 2megs of
ram is not enough to even run the main block of the program. So if it
will not work on your a3000 or a4000, you should send me one, so i will
test it :) Anyway I will try to test it on better machine before
releasing so don't worry, it's working (at least on 1 amiga).

                          SCALA MULTIMEDIA MM210
                          ======================

Dear Scala MM user:

Scala MM210 is an upgrade to MM200 with a series of additional features:

* Full support of the new A1200/A4000 AGA Chip Set
* 24 bit palette support
* Supports AmigaDOS Virtual Monitors
* All Scala program files now located in the Scala/System directory
* Improved Scala Wipes performance
* Scala Utility Launcher - start other programs from the System menu
* Various bug fixes

AmigaDOS requirements
---------------------
NOTE:  Scala MM210 only supports AmigaDOS 2.0 and above.  If you are
running Scala on a 1.3 kickstart, you'll have to upgrade your Kickstart
ROM.  (Which is about time, anyways!)

There are certain differences between the current version of Scala
Multimedia MM210 and the MM200 manual.  Some are menu enhancements, some
are additional features, and some features will be enhanced in
forthcoming maintenance releases of Scala Multimedia.

Make sure you return your User Registration Card to let us know who and
where you are, so we can supply you with maintenance releases at later
dates.

AGA Support
-----------
Scala supports the AGA chip sets fully.  The AGA chip set introduces a
number of new screen modes with more colors and better resolution, which
are all supported by Scala MM210.  Modes up to 1472x580 pixels with up
to 260.000 colors are now available.

The AGA chip set also provides a vast improvement in performance for the
existing graphics modes, as well as more reliable serial communication.

24-bit Palettes
---------------
The 24-bit palette provided with AGA is supported on the Scala palette
menu and in the Scala Wipes fades and superimposes.  Try to bring in all
the Scala backgrounds, select a Superimpose wipe and see what a 24bit
palette can do!

Virtual Monitors:
-----------------
With AmigaDOS 2.0 and above you can set your Workbench Preferences to
support different types of monitors.  Under WB2.0, Scala supports the
PAL and NTSC monitor types.  Under WB3.0, all monitor types available
should be able to run Scala MM210.  On AGA chip sets, flickerfixing is
now done by selecting the MultiScan or DoublePAL/DoubleNTSC modes.  Note
that performance on wipes and animation playback is lowered in these
modes due to hardware saturation.  You'll acheive the best performance
in the PAL or NTSC playback modes.

After installing the virtual monitors of your choice in the
devs:monitors drawer, you'll select which monitor types to use for
respectively editing and playback in Scala.  This is done on the System
menu.

Scala Utility Launcher
----------------------
All Scala's Utilities can now be started from the Scala System menu.
Incidentally, any executable you put in this directory can be started.
Scala starts the application and forwards the script name if the
application accepts a line argument.  This way, a text editor can be
started and the current script file will automatically be loaded into
it.

Crawl Edit:
-----------
* Entering a line of text longer than the width of the screen (to use
for text crawls) is done on the list menu.  Simply double-click on the
line you want to edit and when the cursor appears on the line, edit the
text freely.

Text Out Wipes:
---------------
* Text Out transitions are currently edited from the LINGUA language.
See the LINGUA chapter under the TEXTOUT command.

Number input:
-------------
* Number input on <0> style gadgets can now be done from the keyboard.
Simply click on the number, and the familiar cursor will appear.
